Yesterday we defined “Nutraceuticide”. Today we’ll look at how the Bigs, Big Pharma, Big Agribiz, Big Chema, Big Biotechna and Big Medica use the medical research system as a propaganda tool to run the poison press against nutrients.
Is scientific research objective? Absolutely not. What gets published depends of what the pharma-bloated medical journals want published, nothing more, nothing less. News Target says it clearly: ” Medical journals are highly corrupt: they only print “science” that agrees with the belief systems of the top editors. The vast majority of articles published in most journals have conflicts of interest where, for example, researchers are funded by the very same drug companies that stand to financial benefit from the conclusions of the published studies.
In reality, today’s medical journals are collections of scientific fiction, wishful thinking, and outright scientific fraud posing as hard science.
Oh yes, and to top it all off, many journals are primarily funded by advertising revenues from the very companies whose products are being studied. Objectivity is simply impossible in such an environment.
The examples are so numerous it is hard to know where to start! Take, for example, the current practice of providing research subjects with the ultra low dose nutrients favored by Codex and its EU clone, the European Food Supplements Directive. Remember, these dosages were chosen to be so low that they have no effect on any human being. And, surprise: they have no effect on any human being! But the research, as I indicated in my blog, “Lies, Damn Lies, Statistics and Medical Journals”, that shows this disingenuous “lack of effect” is without scientific merit. It has, however, a huge propaganda merit.
Never, never, never believe the summaries of articles in major media, on the internet or even in alternative media. They probably picked the story up from somewhere else. And unless you read the article yourself you WILL miss the meat if it’s hidden intentionally.
Don’t believe a word that comes from these shiny, fat and Pharma-Fed journals without asking
1. Who paid for the research?
2. What financial interests do the researchers have in the outcome of the studies?
3. Did the study use the right dose, substance, placebo, test subjects, test conditions to give the nutrients in question a fair chance of a realistic outcome?
4. Did the researchers write the article or was it ghost-written by industrial employees with the famous name attached when it comes to publication time?
5. Do the results inside the article match with the abstract and conclusions or are they just the opposite?
6. Do the journal’s advertisers market patent medicines with which the substance studied in the article could be in competition?
Most of us don’t have time to read the studies our selves. The number of medical journals is staggering and they produce an astounding amount of material each month. Frankly, internet publication just makes it worse! What to do?
Find a knowledgeable skeptic you trust who spends time looking at these things with a fair but suitably skeptical eye. And don’t believe a word you read about how bad nutrients are for you unless you run it through the mind filter of that person. I don’t read everything in the literature (no one can) but I try to keep up and I will write blogs and other articles with my views on these items so you will have an informed, intelligent and fair-minded medical scientist sharing her views with you.
Of course, I would love it if you feel inclined to make it easier for me to do that by supporting us here at the Natural Solutions Foundation but the information here is free for the taking. It’s kind of an honor system: pay what you think it’s worth!
We would love it if you will make a monthly pledge to us. If you can’t, we are here for you anyway.
Health is for us all, and so is freedom.
Yours in both health and freedom,
Rima E. Laibow, MD
