I really like the work that the Environmental Working Group does and often applaud them publicly. Until today.
Today, this environmental and social policy group took a giant step backwards and fell off the cliff into the filth below,as far as I am concerned.
I read with distress and disgust that they were supporting the passage of S. 510, the phony “PHUDE” “Safety” Bill and decided that I had to urge them to review and revise their anti-health, anti-freedom, pro totalitarian policy in support of S. 510.
Shortly after I wrote and sent it, I saw that another group, NJPRIG, is also endorsing this awful bill. Having just spell checked this one, I had it ready to go.
Please feel free to use this letter, or the material contained in it, to send letters to persons and organizations endorsing these bills, to modify so that they become letters to the Editor, etc. Use it or we ALL lose it!

To EWG on the occasion of their support of S. 510
Dear EWG,
I am disappointed and deeply concerned that your organization has decided to support the draconian, dangerous and destructive fake Food “Safety” Bill, S. 510. The estimated cost of first year implementation will be $825,000,000 (Section 401).
Since factory food, not local, organic and family farm food, is responsible for the atrocious level of food safety in the US food supply, it is the de-industrialization of our food supply which will protect our health and increase food safety, not the reverse. The bill, of course, gives more power to the FDA to abuse, more money to that organization to spend on policies which have shown no success in the past in controlling food-borne illnesses and new resources to damage clean food source operations and their ability to remain in business legally.
The bill also brings into force the complete HARMonization of the US with Codex Alimentarius, an international body led by the US demands for corporitization and industrialization of the global food supply to the degradation of that food supply through irradiation, chemical contamination and unproven, unsafe GMOs.
Specifically, the bill as written, in effect, incorporates the “HARMonization” provisions of the discredited “Dietary Supplement Safety Act” S.3002 and actually calls upon the FDA to recommend harmonization of American nutritional freedoms with Codex Alimentarius’ restrictions.
– Section 404: “Nothing in this Act… shall be construed in a manner inconsistent with… any …treaty or international agreement to which the United States is a party.”
– Section 306(c)(5): “Recommendations on whether and how to harmonize requirements under the Codex Alimentarius.”
While I concur that the amendment re: BPA is a good idea, the bill to which it is attached will not increase food safety, but rather will cataclysmically diminish food safety by industrializing the entire US food supply.
Small, local and organic farmers, whose food is not the source of food-born illnesses, will be forced out of business if they cannot meet the expensive, ineffective and unnecessary standards of reporting, seed sorting facilities and other equipment requirements and so forth which Agribiz is capable of meeting.
For example, the ancient, and vital practice of seed saving to improve stock will only be possible under this bad bill if there is a facility devoted to each species of plant, say, one for tomato, one for broccoli, one for eggplant, on the farmer’s property: each such facility will cost between $1M and $1.5M. Clearly, this is a purposeful maneuver to make the act of seed saving a crime for the small farmer.
The bill as written threatens small farm, home, local/organic and community food production with onerous rules that, while perhaps appropriate for industrialized food production, will create impossible “barriers against entry” that will rapidly destroy such local and natural production. No protective language is included in the Senate bill that satisfies these concerns.
Heretofore, food and drug regulations in the United States have been public documents of record and, as such, available to the public. S. 510 changes that and in Section 106 provides in part for the regulations issued to be kept secret from the public, “In the interest of national security, the Secretary … may determine the time and manner in which the guidance documents issued under paragraph (1) are made public…”
As the Medical Director of the Natural Solutions Foundation, www.HealthFreedomUSA.org and www.GlobalHealthFreedom.org, the world’s largest health freedom organization, and as a personal supporter of your previous work and positions, I must urge you to carefully reconsider the position your organization has taken on this dangerous, unnecessary, expensive and destructive bill.
Rather than support it, the Natural Solutions Foundation has urged Health Freedom Advocates and Activists to correspond with their Senators and other decision makers to oppose this legislation, making sure that it is NOT passed by Unanimous Congressional Consent or by any other means. There is so much going on right now… the attacks by the Powers that Be are, as Bill Faloon of Life Extension Foundation stated in a recent urgent message, echoing our own concerns: “The threat of a regulatory stranglehold over dietary supplements has intensified.”
We have at least three dangerous bills pending in the US Senate, any one of which could be a real disaster for Health Freedom.
S.3002 – the happily stalled McCain bill. We pushed back against this one so hard that even McCain withdrew his support from his own bill just one month and a day after introducing it! This took about 300,000 emails. However, the Senator from Arizona is still hovering around, trying to get parts of his “HARMonization” with Codex bill terms into the other pending bills.
S.510 – the fake “Food Safety” bill. The “natural products” industry shills and astroturf groups are now backing this disaster, after promises of a Manager’s Amendment to exempt DSHEA products. NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Over a million and a half emails continue to pour in, demanding real protection in these words:
“Rule of Interpretation – No provision of this act shall be deemed to apply (a) to any home, home-business, homestead, home or community gardens, small farm, organic or natural agricultural activity, (b) to any family farm or ranch, or (c) to any natural or organic food product, including dietary supplements regulated under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994.”

S.3217 – the Senate version of the financial institution “reform” law. California Rep Waxman included more power for the FTC to abuse in the bill that passed the house. Congress took away from FTC in the 80s its general rule making power, due to abuse. Now, in the “new” socialist DC environment, the agency is about to get the power it wants to force Dietary Supplement companies to meet drug-company substantiation standards that are totally inappropriate for food products and that could destroy small nutrient companies.

And the above does not include such extraordinary assaults on Health and Health Freedom as are embodied in the new nationalized illness payment system… but that’s going to get repealed sooner than its proponents can imagine! These other legislative assaults therefore demand our attention — we need millions of emails to the Senate to push back and stop them!
As all this is occurring, a Codex Alimentarius (the World Food Code) committee on nutritional labeling is meeting in Canada perhaps defining the fate of world food trade for decades to come. Life and Death under National Health Care…
Yesterday my father died at age 97. He entered the Naples Community Hospital in good spirits, fully alert and as contentious as he ever was. Within a few days he was dead. I believe that he was killed by the economics of health care. What happened to my father was, potentially, a crime. But under the new Obama Care plan, it may not be a crime now that the person occupying the White House has signed it into law. Instead, it will be a (perhaps) unspoken public policy to kill off the elderly, the expensive, the disabled, the useless eaters who are an economic drain on a society which rations health care for the productive “useless eaters” (as they call us) over old, tired, sick or disabled ones.
Like worn out disposable machines, if we cost more to repair than we are worth, then we are junked and broken up for scrap. My father was on several medications when he entered the hospital. He believed in them, I do not, but that is beside the point.

To make that happen, of course, we need farmers with passion and expertise who can oversee that aspect of our project. Three days ago we agreed with a scientist and farmer who is just such a person that he would oversee the BeyondOrganic BioDynamic farming we are starting in order to be able to bring our food to Panama and our techniques to the rest of the world. Today he came to our teaching green house (which I must admit I have sorely neglected because of all the other things going on here) and began the process of creating teaching videos for us in Spanish and English. As soon as we get them edited, we will put them up on www.FoodFreedomeJournal.org, our free instructional site.
On another note, we are beginning our food distribution at the next phase this week: we already produce and sell what I think you will agree is the best coffee on the planet, Valley of the Moon Coffee

We have spent quite some time sourcing sufficient amounts of absolutely clean raw milk and turning it into yogurt which is just as good. We do have to heat it slightly, of course, but its taste is nothing short of stunning. To go with it, we have begun the processing of large amounts of fruit (we got a delivery of about 400 lbs on Thursday). We are making cashew fruit conserves (if you haven’t had these, you are missing something extraordinary), mango, passion fruit, pineapple, cantaloupe preserves (that’s probably a new one for you, too!), all made with the fruit and a native, natural sugar made from sugar cane juice grown without any chemicals. This product, called “raspadura” is just like maple syrup with all of its minerals intact and, in fact, it is produced exactly the same way that maple syrup and maple sugar are: slow boiling in small batches stirred by hand and poured into wooden molds.
Some of the jams have some chemical free ginger and a few have a touch of the hottest pepper I have ever encountered, grown right here in our own greenhouse. How can you get them? Well, we expect to start exporting them soon – IF there is any left after Panama City and the other population centers get their hands on them!
Next come our BeyondOrganic BioDynamic cookies. They are definitely worth waiting for. Veggies will be going into the ground shortly and we are building a seed propagation greenhouse to facilitate dissemination of clean seeds for future planting here and elsewhere in Panama.

Is Your IRA Safe from US Government Confiscation? Certainly NOT!
But there is another reason for talking about the Valley of the Moon Eco Demonstration Project right now. And that is money. You see, the US Government has announced that it is accepting comments on taking your IRA and 401 retirement funds and converting them to fixed income annuities with a 3% yield “guaranteed” by the failing, flailing US Treasury. Middle-class Americans’ last asset base [since the equity in our homes is gone] will be raided like the Social Security “Trust Fund” has been raided… to fund more government waste!
The Natural Solutions Corp, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Panama Natural Solutions Foundation, is a legitimate offshore investment vehicle for those funds (and any others you might want to have offshore, such as personal funds, trust funds, family investment funds, church or other nonprofit funds). Offshore investment is an option which will not, we believe, be available much longer now that the US economy has been gutted and the last pool of what passes for real money, your retirement funds, is about to be stolen out of your future.
In addition to producing Health Freedom’s Own Coffee, the wonderful, smooth and delightful Valley of the Moon Coffee, we are also entering the process of generating our own BeyondOrganic, BioDynamic food for our use and for the use of our customers here in Panama and elsewhere. We are nearing completion of our Natural Solutions Center (with its wellness and seminar programs): we’ll let you know about our Grand Opening Celebration and our Seminar Schedule as soon as we have firm dates! Meanwhile, I can tell you that I feel much better having invested my own IRA offshore in a project with such a strong future.

We are getting ready for the next Codex meeting. The Codex Committee on Food Labeling takes place from May 3-7, 2010 in Ottawa, Canada with workshops on organic agriculture the preceding weekend, May 1 and 2. If you want us there, you need to send us there.
Here is what the costs look like:
$630 per person, Economy Class for 3 people = $1890
Accommodations: $ 1509.79 US (simple bed and breakfast 8 blocks from meeting – we walk)
Food: $75.00 per person for each of 3 persons = , does not include hosting delegates for meals $2025
Incidentals like printing (documents we give to delegates, for example) not included $300

Life and Death under National Health Care…
Yesterday my father died at age 97. He entered the Naples Community Hospital in good spirits, fully alert and as contentious as he ever was. Within a few days he was dead. I believe that he was killed by the economics of health care. What happened to my father was, potentially, a crime. But under the new Obama Care plan, it may not be a crime now that the person occupying the White House has signed it into law. Instead, it will be a (perhaps) unspoken public policy to kill off the elderly, the expensive, the disabled, the useless eaters who are an economic drain on a society which rations health care for the productive “useless eaters” (as they call us) over old, tired, sick or disabled ones.
Like worn out disposable machines, if we cost more to repair than we are worth, then we are junked and broken up for scrap. My father was on several medications when he entered the hospital. He believed in them, I do not, but that is beside the point.
Either because of the drug-drug interactions or because his kidney function was getting worse on its own, he began swelling. The response of his doctors? To stop all 7 medications abruptly, leaving his organs no chemical support whatsoever. Not surprisingly, he became first disoriented and then lethargic. Next, he stopped eating and drinking and began slipping into and out of coma.
Well, yes, that is what happens when your organs begin to fail and you are not given ether water or food. At 97 he was frail and thin. The fluid in his body began to migrate to his tissues as he piled up toxins and went into deeper and deeper dehydration. Oh, did I forget to mention that he was being given more and more sedation, which suppresses mental alertness, breathing, liver function and other organ systems?
I called the hospital and asked why he was receiving no water or nourishment. “Well, you see,” I was told, “He is lethargic and is neither eating nor drinking.” “That is the point! ” I exclaimed. “Of course he is lethargic. He is dehydrated, starving, toxic and you’ve pulled all his medications that were keeping him in some sort of functional state. That is exactly what you can expect when you dehydrate, starve and do not support weakened organs.”
“No,” the nurses and doctor and Physician’s Assistant assured me, “He is in MOSF [Multiple Organ System Failure] because he is old and sick.”. They blamed his declining, then terminal, state on him, not seeing that they had, wittingly or unwittingly, precipitated his decline by their incorrect and neglectful treatment of him. After all, he was just another old man, expensive and unnecessary.
Never mind that he was a painter, an architect, an author, a philosopher, a father and a friend to those who loved him. Even if he had been none of those, he was a human being and no human being deserves to have another make the decision that it is no longer necessary to have him around, to feed him, to clothe him, to care for him.
His doctor, after not getting my messages asking to speak to him for days and days, finally called me to tell me “Actually, I sort of liked your father. He had a significant disease burden which he carried well, but now he will not make it.”
His doctor told me that he had stopped all of his medications “BECAUSE HE WAS SICK.”
What? I thought that allopathic doctors GAVE people medication when they were sick. What logic is that? Then I was told that he was not getting any liquids because his kidneys were still working, but had problems. What? I thought that people with kidney problems were given fluids in direct relationship to the amount that they could excrete and that a careful in/out record was kept to make that calculation possible. No IV, nothing by mouth, just starvation and dehydration while being heavily medicated to suppress consciousness and respiration.
Who asked the doctor to kill my father? Could that decision, which was made without enough underlying pathology to make it a mercy killing, since my father was about to embark on a new phase of his life here in Panama with me, could it have been made because my father was adamant about not wanting heroic (read profitable) measures taken? Could it have been because he and his Health Surrogate has put a DNR in place, a “Do Not Resuscitate” order, meaning that his care would not include intensive care life support with its attendant profits? Or could the opposite have been true: that in the interest of cost savings, the order came down to NOT treat patients whose later years will be expensive in order to save resources for the workers, the young, the robust, the healthy, the elite, the privileged. Who wants a wrinkled 97 year old guy, anyway. He can’t keep up on the forced march to fascism, after all.
Under the Obamacare legislation passed the day before my father died, such disposal of the expensive, the weak, the needy, the wrinkled, will be routine and there will be nothing that can be done about it. We will only have “good Germans” in the New World Order medical system.
My father’s death by medicine, or murder by design, was not yet either law or public policy. Where will this lead? I do not yet know. Will I let it rest here? Well, if you know me, you know that I will pursue truth wherever it leads. Early in the morning tomorrow I will begin a trip to take me directly to the scene of the … what? Crime? Perhaps. Misfortune? Perhaps. Error? Perhaps.
Actuarial medicine is the medicine of the culling of the useless eaters. Are you next? Your mother, father, son, daughter, wife, husband, grandmother, grandfather? Pray God that under the new slaughter of the expensive you never become ill.
