GlaxoSmithKline Agrees to Pay $750 Million to Settle Manufacturing Complaints!
GlaxoSmithKline, the British drug giant, has agreed to pay $750 million to settle criminal and civil complaints that the company for years knowingly sold contaminated baby ointment and an ineffective antidepressant — the latest in growing number of whistle-blower lawsuits that drug makers have settled with multimillion dollar fines. Altogether, GlaxoSmithKline sold 20 drugs with questionable
safety that were made at a huge plant in Puerto Rico that for years was rife with contamination. Cheryl Eckard, the company’s quality manager, asserts in her whistle-blower suit that she warned Glaxo of the problems but the company fired her instead of addressing the issues. Among the drugs affected were Avandia, Bactroban, Coreg, Paxil and Tagamet. No patients are known to have been sickened by the quality problems although such cases would be difficult to trace.

FDA Announces Sibutramine Has Been Withdrawn From the Market
The agency asked Abbott Laboratories to pull the drug from the market after it evaluated data from a postmarketing study of the drug’s cardiovascular safety. The study, called the Sibutramine Cardiovascular Outcomes Trial (SCOUT), demonstrated a 16% increase in the risk for serious cardiovascular events such as nonfatal heart attack, nonfatal stroke, the need for resuscitation after the heart stopped, and death in a cohort of patients given sibutramine compared with another given a placebo.

Low Testosterone Associated With High Mortality in Men With CHD
October 22, 2010 (Sheffield, United Kingdom) — Among men who have coronary heart disease, mortality was doubled in those with low testosterone levels compared with those who had normal levels, a new observational study has shown. Dr Chris J Malkin (Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield, UK) and colleagues report their findings in Heart. [1]

A Friend of Health Freedom Writes to Diane Feinstein – Sometimes Health Freedom Is Just Plain Hilarious!
A good friend of health freedom wrote to Diane Feinstein (D CA) about his flu vaccine concerns. He received the predictable form letter containing such idiocy as “Several studies have been conducted, by the CDC and other agencies, in response to concerns that thimerosal, a mercury-containing component of the influenza vaccine, is linked to autism. These studies did not find such a link, noting that the amount of thimerosal in the vaccine was too low to have an effect. One study found that, even after thimerosal was removed from vaccines in Denmark, the rate of autism in children continued to rise.
The influenza vaccine is the safest, most effective method of preventing the spread of a disease which, according to the CDC, leads to an average of 36,000 deaths each year. Please know that I will keep your thoughts in mind should legislation regarding the influenza vaccine come before the Senate.

Thank you so much for your email regarding the use of the deadly mercury in the H1N1 vaccine and other injections given even to newborn babies with no regard to the long term neurological consequences and the damage that will be done to millions of families across our country and around the world. I appreciate your need to do all you can for the reputation of the WTO, after their complete exposure as a fraudulent organization when they issued a pandemic alert of the highest level last year (level 6) in order to convince (or coerce) millions of people to take the toxic vaccines.
I sympathize with you that the otherwise well-coordinated scam did not work, and the “pandemic” had to be canceled, with millions of unused injections sitting on the shelves, waiting for a pandemic to be created fast enough to use them before they have to be thrown away. No one realizes how hard the poor drug dealers work with their government servants to pull off one of these global scams, and how much hard-extorted money they lose when one does not work. I realize that as a busy senator, you have no spare time to waste on things like learning what the CDC and the FDA are, or that they are fully controlled by and take their orders from, the drug companies. Later, when you are retired, perhaps you can take the time to study these things, instead of just repeating what you have been told. If you eventually become honest, and perhaps develop a conscience, you will find that the current “health care” system, overseen and controlled by the respectable drug lords that you know as “pharmaceutical companies” has become the number two cause of death in American today (something like 750,000 deaths a year from “properly” used drugs).
I look forward to the time you become interested in what good you could actually do for the people you are supposed to represent. There is still time for you to drop the party and political nonsense, and take up humility, honesty, and a sincere interest in truth instead. Millions of us are waiting for that time and wishing you well in getting there.

I really like the work that the Environmental Working Group does and often applaud them publicly. Until today.
Today, this environmental and social policy group took a giant step backwards and fell off the cliff into the filth below,as far as I am concerned.
I read with distress and disgust that they were supporting the passage of S. 510, the phony “PHUDE” “Safety” Bill and decided that I had to urge them to review and revise their anti-health, anti-freedom, pro totalitarian policy in support of S. 510.
Shortly after I wrote and sent it, I saw that another group, NJPRIG, is also endorsing this awful bill. Having just spell checked this one, I had it ready to go.
Please feel free to use this letter, or the material contained in it, to send letters to persons and organizations endorsing these bills, to modify so that they become letters to the Editor, etc. Use it or we ALL lose it!

To EWG on the occasion of their support of S. 510
Dear EWG,
I am disappointed and deeply concerned that your organization has decided to support the draconian, dangerous and destructive fake Food “Safety” Bill, S. 510. The estimated cost of first year implementation will be $825,000,000 (Section 401).
Since factory food, not local, organic and family farm food, is responsible for the atrocious level of food safety in the US food supply, it is the de-industrialization of our food supply which will protect our health and increase food safety, not the reverse. The bill, of course, gives more power to the FDA to abuse, more money to that organization to spend on policies which have shown no success in the past in controlling food-borne illnesses and new resources to damage clean food source operations and their ability to remain in business legally.
The bill also brings into force the complete HARMonization of the US with Codex Alimentarius, an international body led by the US demands for corporitization and industrialization of the global food supply to the degradation of that food supply through irradiation, chemical contamination and unproven, unsafe GMOs.
Specifically, the bill as written, in effect, incorporates the “HARMonization” provisions of the discredited “Dietary Supplement Safety Act” S.3002 and actually calls upon the FDA to recommend harmonization of American nutritional freedoms with Codex Alimentarius’ restrictions.
– Section 404: “Nothing in this Act… shall be construed in a manner inconsistent with… any …treaty or international agreement to which the United States is a party.”
– Section 306(c)(5): “Recommendations on whether and how to harmonize requirements under the Codex Alimentarius.”
While I concur that the amendment re: BPA is a good idea, the bill to which it is attached will not increase food safety, but rather will cataclysmically diminish food safety by industrializing the entire US food supply.
Small, local and organic farmers, whose food is not the source of food-born illnesses, will be forced out of business if they cannot meet the expensive, ineffective and unnecessary standards of reporting, seed sorting facilities and other equipment requirements and so forth which Agribiz is capable of meeting.
For example, the ancient, and vital practice of seed saving to improve stock will only be possible under this bad bill if there is a facility devoted to each species of plant, say, one for tomato, one for broccoli, one for eggplant, on the farmer’s property: each such facility will cost between $1M and $1.5M. Clearly, this is a purposeful maneuver to make the act of seed saving a crime for the small farmer.
The bill as written threatens small farm, home, local/organic and community food production with onerous rules that, while perhaps appropriate for industrialized food production, will create impossible “barriers against entry” that will rapidly destroy such local and natural production. No protective language is included in the Senate bill that satisfies these concerns.
Heretofore, food and drug regulations in the United States have been public documents of record and, as such, available to the public. S. 510 changes that and in Section 106 provides in part for the regulations issued to be kept secret from the public, “In the interest of national security, the Secretary … may determine the time and manner in which the guidance documents issued under paragraph (1) are made public…”
As the Medical Director of the Natural Solutions Foundation, www.HealthFreedomUSA.org and www.GlobalHealthFreedom.org, the world’s largest health freedom organization, and as a personal supporter of your previous work and positions, I must urge you to carefully reconsider the position your organization has taken on this dangerous, unnecessary, expensive and destructive bill.
Rather than support it, the Natural Solutions Foundation has urged Health Freedom Advocates and Activists to correspond with their Senators and other decision makers to oppose this legislation, making sure that it is NOT passed by Unanimous Congressional Consent or by any other means. Dr. Laibow: Stop S.510 Now!
S. 510, the fake “Food Safety” Bill, is a lesson in the politics of persistence and perfidy.
For more than a year, the plan to capture – and kill – clean, local, organic, independent and safe farming has been wending its way through Congress. Last year, the devastating HR 1279 passed although we put up a good battle, delaying it for quite a while. However, at the end of the day, a good battle followed by a loss is still a loss.
We lost the clean food battle in the House.
The battle ground then shifted to the Senate. Remember, the Uber Cartel, which includes Big Agra, Big Chema, Big Biotech and, behind them all, Big Pharma and its malignant sister, Big Oil, has endless money for lobbyists, propaganda, back-door dealings and other well-financed pressure tactics like Codex Alimentarius, for example.
For examples of corruption, we have only to look at the current Congressional probe of the Uber Cartel Pharma Phamily corruption, bribing and buying their way into national policy around the world through filling personal coffers of regulators and politicians. If you think that is limited to foreign countries, guess again.
So the fact that we, the Natural Solutions Foundation net roots and those who have joined us in this clean food battle, following our lead and bringing their constituencies into the fray, have held off the passage of the bill that some have called “Monsanto’s wet dream Bill” since last November, when unanimous Senate agreement on its passage was reached is nothing short of miraculous.
Miraculous and, if we falter now, totally meaningless.
Once we pushed it back in November, the Uber Cartel was unable to move it forward: there were too many of us who got the picture, understood the game and comprehended what the cost would be to our health and our freedom if we did not succeed in killing this bill before it, literally, killed us.
Now we are met on the battle field of clean food again. In mid April S 510 was once again the subject of unanimous agreement and was to be voted upon the following week. Our inside sources shared that information with us and we rose up in our collective power, sending so many emails to Congress, and activating so many Washington forces that the bill went into limbo again.
Later, as the Senate was winding up its session before summer recess, we realized that the plan was to ram it through as a “noncontroversial” bill, which would then be passed by “unanimous Congressional Consent” since no one had anything to say about it.
Well, we used the Senate rules against this bill and asked you to demand of your Senators that they put a hold on S. 510 by calling the Senate Cloak Room (yes, you read that right!) and demanding that the bill not go up for a unanimous consent approval.
Again, we prevailed and the US Senate broke for its 2010 summer recess without voting on the bill.
Enter villains gnashing teeth and twirling mustaches.
S. 510, the fake “Food Safety Bill”, is of enormous importance to the globalist genocidalists. They want it passed. Senators who are either their dupes or their bed mates are willing to do their bidding IF, and only IF, they can do so out of the light of public awareness. They want to do their masters’ bidding without being tarred with the same brush of filth as their masters.
We, you and I, are here to make sure that they are publicly exposed and publicly notified by vast numbers of us that their doings are very, very public and that their constituents, you and I, are holding them personally, and professionally, accountable for their actions.
It is urgently important that the eaters of the US join together, whether we are male or females, young or old, single or married, Christian or Jew or Jain or Muslim or atheist or Hindu, parents or childless persons, unite behind this issue.

What’s at stake?
1. No seed saving without vast expenditures because seeds could be a terrorist weapon! What’s really going on here? Biotech companies want to control the world’s food access and sell ONLY their own chemical dependent seeds.
2. All seed prices, already consuming more than 1/3 of all farmers’ expenditures, will be controlled by the Uber Cartel.
3. Organic, clean, local, personal farming would still be allowed IF Codex standards and guidelines were followed. These include irradiation, chemical use and other highly dangerous, expensive and unacceptable practices for clean food consumers (those of us recently identified by the captive organization called the American Psychiatric Association as suffering from “Orthorexia”, as psychiatric disorder in which people are concerned with the quality of the food they eat!).
4. Growing personal or local food without the taxes and controls inherent in this bill will become criminal acts.
5. Record keeping will be so burdensome, and the fines for not complying, that most small, family, organic and biodynamic farmers will cease to produce food for themselves or you.
6. Supplements (attacked by Senator McCain in a bill which was ‘absorbed’ into S. 510) will be attacked even more strongly than they currently are since, as foods, they, too, will have to meet the “standards” imposed by S. 510 despite the fact that they are among the most highly regulated foods in the country AND the safest.
7. Health will decline as more chemicals are used by farms, more toxic effluent enters the environment, less nutritious food is available, more chemical contamination is permitted, even more food is irradiated and high potency supplements disappear. The diseases of under nutrition, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity, already epidemic, will sky rocket, along with the endless human suffering which accompany them.
8. Raw milk will be a thing of the past.
9. Freedom, like raw milk, will be a memory of what we used to be able to access.
In case you haven’t heard already, Speaker Pelosi called my colleagues and me back from the August recess on Tuesday to vote on more government spending. This one comes in the form of a bailout package to help states cover the costs for education and Medicaid to the tune of $26 billion. And here I thought the American public would finally get some reprieve from the voracious spending appetite of liberal Democrats in Washington, DC.
It should come as no surprise for you to know that I voted against this bill. Not only does it spend money that we don’t have, but it perpetuates the bailout culture that has become so popular with Democrats in Congress. Also, but the so-called spending “offsets” in the bill came in the form of a $10 billion tax increase on corporations.
Democrats would like you to believe that spending this additional $26 billion will somehow create jobs, spur economic growth and expand individual opportunity for Americans. The truth is that this latest bailout is really just a give-away to state bureaucrats at the expense of U.S. taxpayers. Another short-term federal bailout will only encourage states to rely on more taxpayer funded federal assistance rather than balancing their budgets and reducing unneeded spending.
Now is the time to act. Tomorrow may well be too late.
Single voices are good. Multipliers of many thousands makes our voices count – powerfully.

Children are among the major consumers of sugar. Sugar beets are among the major sources of sugar. Genetically modified sugar beets are adapted to survive the use of deadly chemicals. That is, in fact, despite the propaganda and hype, the only reason that most GMOs are created: to create an after market for deadly chemicals. Of course, the sales of GMO seed help the bottom line along for the Uber Cartel but the real money is in the increased use of, and subsequent sale of, the profitable chemicals which the same companies make. Oh, yes, of course they are also drug companies so they get you coming into the food cycle and the hospital when they sell you drugs for the conditions and diseases which their chemicals and dangerous GMO “foods” cause you to develop.
And, then there is the lack of safety information on consuming GMOs. All independent science makes it clear that there is no reason to believe that GMO foods are safe since their consequences are to damage the DNA OF EVERY CELL IN THE BODY, including the cells of children still unborn. All this, of course, without oversight by the FDA or USDA.
Do you know what happens when people eat genetically modified sugar? No? Neither do I. But when mammals eat GMO soy, their offspring die, or are born stunted. Their fertility is impaired, their GI tracts and kidneys and immune systems are impaired, too. So is just about every other part of their bodies. It stands to reason, of course, since the DNA and its dangerous products have never existed before and we simply lack the mechanisms to get rid of them once they are in our bodies.
Then there are super weeds and super pests and genetic contamination and…. well, it sort of makes sense to feed them to children if you are a genocidalist AND a drug company owner, don’t you think?
We rejoice that approval for GMO sugar beets was vacated (e.g., canceled) pending an environmental impact statement. But it was not vacated on the grounds that these products, once genetically modified, are unstudied, unsafe, unnecessary and must be stopped before they literally contaminate every plant and animal on earth in what is heading toward the greatest cataclysm in the history of life on this planet.

VICTORY! FEDERAL COURT RESCINDS USDA APPROVAL OF GENETICALLY ENGINEERED SUGAR BEETS
ORDER BANS PLANTING OR SALE OF CONTROVERSIAL CROP. COURT DENIES MONSANTO REQUEST TO ALLOW CONTINUED PLANTING
Today Judge Jeffrey White, federal district judge for the Northern District of California, issued a ruling granting the request of plaintiffs Center for Food Safety, Organic Seed Alliance, High Mowing Organic Seeds, and the Sierra Club to rescind the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA’s) approval of genetically engineered “Roundup Ready” sugar beets (Center for Food Safety v. Vilsack, No. C08-00484 JSW [N.D. Cal. 2010]). In September 2009, the Court had found that the USDA had violated the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) by approving the Monsanto-engineered biotech crop without first preparing an Environmental Impact Statement. The crop was engineered to resist the effects of Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide, which it sells to farmers together with the patented seed. Similar Roundup Ready crops have led to increased use of herbicides, proliferation of herbicide resistant weeds, and contamination of conventional and organic crops.
In today’s ruling the Court officially “vacated” the USDA “deregulation” of Monsanto’s biotech sugar beets and prohibited any future planting and sale pending the agency’s compliance with NEPA and all other relevant laws. USDA has estimated that an EIS may be ready by 2012.
Andrew Kimbrell, Executive Director of plaintiff and co-counsel the Center for Food Safety, stated, “This is a major victory for farmers, consumers and the rule of law. USDA has once again acted illegally and had its approval of a biotech crop rescinded. Hopefully the agency will learn that their mandate is to protect farmers, consumers and the environment and not the bottom line of corporations such as Monsanto.”
Paul Achitoff of Earthjustice, lead counsel for the plaintiffs, commented: “Time and again, USDA has ignored the law and abdicated its duty to protect the environment and American agriculture from genetically engineered crops designed to sell toxic chemicals. Time and again, citizens speaking truth to power have taken USDA to court and won.”
In his order, Judge White noted that USDA’s “errors are not minor or insignificant, and his “concern that Defendants are not taking this process seriously.” He also pointed out that “despite the fact that the statutes at issue are designed to protect the environment,” USDA and the sugar beet industry focused on the economic consequences to themselves, yet “failed to demonstrate that serious economic harm would be incurred pending a full economic review….”
The Court held in part:
…the Court GRANTS Plaintiffs’ request to vacate APHIS’s decision to deregulate genetically engineered sugar beets and remands this matter to APHIS. Based on this vacatur, genetically engineered sugar beets are once again regulated articles pursuant to the Plant Protection Act. This vacatur applies to all future plantings…
This is the second time a Court has rescinded USDA’s approval of a biotech crop. The first such crop, Roundup Ready alfalfa, is also illegal to plant, based on the vacating of its deregulation in 2007 pending preparation of an EIS. Although Monsanto took that case all the way to the Supreme Court and the High Court set aside part of the relief granted, the full prohibition on its planting – based on the same remedy granted here, the vacatur – remains in place. In the past several years federal courts have also held illegal USDA’s approval of biotech crop field trials, including the testing of biotech grasses in Oregon and the testing of engineered, pharmaceutical-producing crops in Hawai’i.

Nothing could be further from the truth. As if to underscore the destruction of the world’s food supply, the 33rd Meeting of the Codex Alimentarius Commission, July 5-9, 2010 (Geneva, Switzerland) approved a standard for apples which permits not more than 5% of the apples to be composed of ACTIVLY FEEDING INSECTS!
When India and other countries protested that this unprecedented approval of filth as “food” would lead to poor quality and inedible food being dumped in the poorest nations, the Secretariat clarified that this standard permits FEEDING insects, not PEST insects. Despite the strong protest expressed by numerous countries, large and small, the US, EU, Argentina, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand, the countries least likely to wind up with these insects on their dinner plates, bulled their approval through with the complicity of the Codex Commission Chairperson, the US’s Karen Hullebeck.
Everything else done by this Codex session continues to degrade the world’s food supply despite the continuing, but continually ignored, protests of the developing world.

We got to Geneva and continued our preparation for the meeting. You see, in order bring you intelligent, meaningful and precise information in our daily video and written reports and later create meaningful strategies to deal with Codex and its dangers, we need to do a major amount of planning and preparation.
Codex is designed to be overwhelmingly complex, detail driven and difficult to comprehend because the technical level of the considerations is so enormously demanding if you are going to understand it all. Delegates are just supposed to be so overwhelmed that they simply sink into a lulled position in which whatever the US or EU says is what they go along with, sort of like the courtiers just letting the red queen do what she likes in Alice and Wonderland because it is so much easier and safer.
But at Codex, as in so many other urgently important situations, the devil really IS in the details. Consider:
There are 15 Committee Reports to be studied from major codex Committees (http://www.codexalimentarius.net/web/archives.jsp) for the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) session starting on Monday, July 5.
The Report of the Codex Executive Committee has 28 pages
The Committee on Food Labeling has 58 pages
The Committee on Contaminants in Foods has 69 pages
and so on through the 15 committees presenting their items for discussion at the CAC.

Potentially buried in each one of the clauses, phrases, reports and agenda items is a time bomb that can, despite its innocuous language, kill people through the implications and permissions granted via its legalese.
Nutrient Reference Values (NRVs) and GMO labeling are excellent, but by no means unique, examples. Both of these issues are highly technical and both, if carried out as the US desires, would lead to highly undesirable outcomes. NRVs are daily intake values of nutrients so low that they actually introduce and make permanent, the under-nutrition which WHO and FAO point out as the primary cause of the non-communicable, preventable, degenerative killer diseases: cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity. Misleading consumers into believing that their processed food provides adequate levels of vital nutrients, the NRVs are both a biochemical absurdity and an atrocity since they will, through their use on labels, lead people to believe that since their food is providing most or all of the NRVs, it provides the nutrients they need for a healthy life.
NRVs have been winding their way through the Codex Committee on Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Uses (CCNFSDU) and the Committee on Food Labeling (CCFL). When South Africa was discussing them in 2005 at CCNFSDU, Dr. Grossklaus, the Chairman cut the delegate off at the knees when she mentioned “optimal nutrition” and said “It would be nice if Codex were about nutrition, but it isn’t. GMO labeling is another example, as is whether Codex should define consensus or a code of ethics for codex participants. In these discussions and decisions, information lies which could, going in one direction, change history and survival for good and, going in the other direction, could do exactly the opposite.
Each Agenda Item rests on a multi-year background with a huge pile of data and debate behind it. Having that perspective is essential to informed, effective dialogue with the delegates at Codex and in their home countries. And that is what we do at Codex! We take your interests, and those of well-nourished, autonomous, food independent people and “bang them against” what Codex is doing. The lives of food producers, food consumers and the planet turn on these tiny nuances since all of the Codex documents are written in such a way as to lull you into a fluorided haze of complacency. There is, however, nothing to be complacent about.
There is also nothing worth participating in at Codex. It is my contention that the United States needs to get out of Codex and do it now. We will lose nothing and grain a great deal, I believe, by loosening the hold that we have allowed the World Trade Organization, WHO, to place on us through trade agreements that can only inevitably degrade our food and our health unless we follow the Codex Two Step Process, as other nations have done successfully. If we were out of Codex, I believe that two things would happen:
First, it would be a great deal easier for interested parties to apply pressure to force the US to deviate from the Codex guidelines and standards since we would not have teams of experts ramming these guidelines and standards through Codex and, second, we would not be twisting and distorting the entire Codex process, making the decisions that the US wants, not the ones that protect the farmers, the consumers and the earth. They would be far better decided by the national competencies of the countries rather than by the “bully of the class” threatening the other kids in the class with the active and vigorous help of the corrupt and self interested “teacher”, WHO, a corrupt and genocidal organization which acknowledges that it wants to see the population of the earth reduced by a minimum of 80%, better 90%!
So what we do is prepare for the topics of greatest interest to you and to the developing world’s delegates, mingle with delegates and share our perspectives on these topics and provide leadership for dissent strategies. Then, very importanty, we offer them information on how they can increase crop yield, decrease food born illness, and, in reality, actually accomplish exactly what Codex says it is about.
And we report. After each day’s meetings, we make sure that you know what the highlights (and low points) of the day’s proceedings have been, what they mean for you, what they mean for the dangerous forward movement of “HARMonization” by the US and how to protect ourselves, our health and our health freedom.
