Gelsemium. [Gels]
This remedy corresponds to the commencement of the trouble, when the patient is weak, tired and aches throughout the body. It removes speedily the intense aching and muscular soreness. There is constant chilliness and the patient hugs the fire; the fever is less acute than that of Aconite, and the cough is hard and painful. There are paroxysms of sneezing with excoriating discharge, and great torpor and apathy. An extensive experience with this remedy in the great Epidemic of 1918 proved its usefulness. Simple cases were speedily cured. Aconite will sometimes prove the better remedy for children, but the drug will never be a prominent one in influenza. Still it may be prescribed when indicated; it will, perhaps, soothe and moderate the subsequent attack, but its action is not quick here as in simple fevers, as we have to do with a blood affection.
#Baptisia.
Influenza with marked gastro-intestinal symptoms may need this remedy, especially when there are present putriddiarrhoea stools. Clarke considers this remedy the nearest specific for the disease; he prefers the 30th potency. Hughes also praises it, but uses it in the 1x and 2x dilutions, which seem to have more extensive testimony as to their efficacy.
#Eupatorium perfoliatum.
This remedy has much soreness and aching of the entire body; hoarseness and cough, with great soreness of the larynx and upper respiratory tract. Coryza with thirst and drinking causes vomiting. The cough is a very shattering one, hurts the head and chest, and as in Drosera, the patient holds the chest with the hands. The breakbone pains are characteristic of the remedy. Add to these symptoms acute bilious derangements, and it is all the more indicated. Many physicians rely on this remedy in influenza / flu almost exclusively in the early stages.
#Sabadilla. [Sabad]
Sneezing is the great keynote of this remedy. Sneezing and lachrymation on going into the open air. The throat is swollen and the pain is worse on empty swallowing; the sneezing is excessive, shaking the whole body. Shudderings, with gooseflesh chills creeping upwards, are also prominent symptoms. Frontal headache, dryness of mouth, without thirst and cough, worse on lying down, are additional symptoms. It suits well many cases of the catarrhal form of flu; other remedies having sneezing are Cyclamen and Euphorbia.
#Arsenicum. [Ars]
This remedy covers more phases of flu than perhaps any other remedy. Hughes believes that it will cut short an attack, especially when there is a copious flow, prostration and paroxysmal coryza. Its periodicity makes it suitable to epidemics, and it suits the early symptoms when the affection is in the upper portion of the respiratory tract. The burning dryness and copious watery excoriating secretion and the involvement of the conjunctiva are unmistakable indications. Langour and prostration are prominent symptoms.
#Arsenicum iodide.
Chills, flushes of heat and severe fluent coryza, discharge irritating and corrosive, sneezing and prostration. It corresponds to true influenza and is highly recommended by Hale. Sanguinaria nitrate is especially valuable when the trachea and larynx are affected. Phytolacca. Specific when the throat is inflamed and spotty, with great hardness and tenderness of the glands.
#Dulcamara. [Dulc]
This is one of our best remedies in the acute form; the eyes are suffused, the throat is sore and the cough hurts because of the muscular soreness. If brought on by damp, cold changes in the weather, so much the surer is Dulcamara indicated.
#Bryonia.
The trouble here is largely bronchial and going down. When a person is very grumpy and feels miserable with the flu, wanting only to lie still and be left alone, this remedy is likely to be useful. Headache, muscle aches, and cough or stomach pain may be the major symptoms. Everything feels worse from even the slightest motion. The person’s mouth usually is dry, with a thirst for long cold drinks.
#Phosphorus.
Especially when the trouble moves towards the chest. It is a very useful remedy for the debility following la grippe, as it is usually of the pure nervous type. It is the great post-influenza “tonic.”
#Rhus toxicodendron. [Rhus-t]
Influenza, with severe aching in all the bones, sneezing and coughing. The cough is worse evenings and is caused by a tickling behind the upper part of the sternum. Especially is it useful in cases brought on by exposure to dampness. There is much prostration and depression, and the patient may have some symptoms which are suspicious as pointing towards typhoid fever, such as burning tongue, stupor and delirium. Aching pains, nightly restlessness are keynotes symptoms. Causticum, like both Rhus and Eupatorium, has a tired, sore, bruised sensation all over the body and soreness in the chest when coughing, but it has in addition involuntary urination when coughing.
#Allium cepa. [All-c]
Profuse catarrhal coryza; the nose runs freely, there is sneezing, irritability cough, the face is swollen and looks inflamed. Camphora. This remedy is often sufficient at the outset to cut short an attack, or at least modify the severity.
#Sticta. [Stict]
Nasal catarrh; headache, thirst, nightly expectoration, great watering of eyes,running at nose, hoarseness of voice, frontal headache and depression of whole system. Tuberculous subjects attacked by influenza. “There is no better remedy,” says Dr. Fornias,”for the incessant wearing, racking cough of this class of patients.” Tuberculinum is an excellent prevention of recurring attacks of influenza /flu in those who have annual attacks.
#Ipecac
Adapted to cases where the gastric symptoms predominate; tongue clean or slightly coated. Nausea: with profuse saliva; vomiting of white, glairy mucus in large quantities, without relief; sleepy afterwards; worse from stooping. Low thirst. Cough: dry spasmodic, constricted, asthmatic. Difficult breathing from least exercise; violent dyspnoea, with wheezing and anxiety about the stomach. Cough, with rattling of mucus in bronchi when inspiring; threatened suffocation from mucus. Pains as if bones were all torn to pieces.
#Veratrum album
Adapted to diseases with rapid sinking of the vital forces; complete prostration; collapse. Cold perspiration on the forehead (over entire body, Tab. ); with nearly all complaints. Thirst: intense, unquenchable, for large quantities of very cold water and acid drinks; wants everything cold. Diarrhoea: frequent, greenish, watery, gushing: mixed with flakes: cutting colic, with cramps commencing in hands and feet and spreading all over; prostrating, after fright; < least movement; with vomiting, cold sweat on forehead during and prostration after. Fifteen Things You Can Do If You Are Forced to Take a Flu Shot

Dr Blaylock’s List of suggestions on How to Reduce the Toxic Effects of the A/H1N1 Vaccine, is as follows:
1. Number one on the list says Dr Blaylock, is to bring a cold pack with you and place it on the site of the injection as soon as you can, as this will block the immune reaction. Once you get home, continue using a cold pack throughout the day. If you continue to have immune reactions the following day, have cold showers and continue with the cold press.
2. Take fish oil. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), one of the omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil supplements, is a potent immune suppressant. If you take high dose EPA you will be more susceptible to infections, because it is a powerful immune suppressant. However, in the case of an immune adjuvant reaction, you want to reduce it. Studies show that if you take EPA oil one hour before injecting a very powerful adjuvant called lipopolysaccharide (LPS), it would completely block the ability of the LPS to cause brain inflammation. Take a moderate dose everyday and more if needed to tame a cytokine storm.

4. Vitamin E, the natural form that is high in gamma-E will help dampen the immune reactions and reduces several of the inflammatory cytokines.
5. An important ingredient on the list is Vitamin C at a dose of 1000 mg, taken four times a day between meals. It is a very potent anti-inflammatory and should be taken in a buffered form, not as absorbic acid, says Dr Blaylock.

7. Likewise, it was found that children who were deficient in zinc had a high mortality rate. Zinc is very protective against vaccine toxicity. (Do not use zinc mixed with copper however, as copper is a major trigger of free-radical generation according to Dr Blaylock).
8. Ensure you avoid all immune-stimulating supplements, such as mushroom extracts, whey protein and < http://www.betaglucan.org/>beta-glucan.
9. Take a multivitamin-mineral daily one that does not contain iron. This multivitamin-mineral is to make sure your body has plenty of B vitamins and selenium. Selenium, said Dr Blaylock, is very important for fighting viral infections and it reduces the inflammatory response to vaccines.
10. Magnesium citrate/malate 500 mg of elemental magnesium two capsules, three times a day. (This was not mentioned during the show, but was posted at Dr Deagle’s website,
11. What is very important is vitamin D3, which is the only ‘vitamin’ the body can manufacture from sunlight (UVB). It is a neural hormone, not really a vitamin says Dr Blaylock and helps if you are over-reacting immunologically by cooling down the reaction. Similarly, if you are under-reacting, it helps to boost your immune response. In addition it also protects against microorganism invasion.
Black people and those in colder climates are particularly deficient, so they will almost certainly require supplementation.
Dr Blaylock recommends that following vaccination it will help to keep the immune reaction under control if:
i) All children get 5,000 units a day for two weeks after the vaccine and then 2,000 a units a day thereafter;
ii) Adults get 20,000 units a day after the vaccine for two weeks, then 10,000 units a day thereafter;
iii) And with that adults should take 500-1000 mg of calcium a day and children under the age of 12 years should take 250 mg a day, as vitamin D works more efficiently in the presence of calcium.
12. Ensure you avoid all mercury-containing seafood or any other sources of mercury, as the heavy metal is a very powerful inducer of autoimmunity, is known to make people more susceptible to viral infections and will be in H1N1 vaccines.
13. Avoid the oils that significantly suppress immunity and increase inflammation – such as corn, safflower, sunflower, soybean, canola and peanut oils.
14. Drink very concentrated white tea at least four times a day. It helps to prevent abnormal immune reactions.
15. Pop parsley and celery in a blender and drink 8 ounces of this mixture twice a day. Dr Blaylock says the parsley is very high in a flavonoid called apigenin and that celery is high in

“We are deeply concerned that WHO has set the so-called ‘Swine Flu Pandemic Level’ at ‘Level 6’ — the highest pandemic level in over 40 years. We are very suspicious of WHO’s recent actions in ‘changing the rules’ of what constitutes a pandemic to force the low pathogenicity, genetically manipulated ‘Swine Flu’ into the ‘pandemic’ category. Our concern is this rushes world governments into ill-conceived and potentially dangerous forced vaccination programs with what we consider a ‘weaponized’ pandemic vaccine for a non-life-threatening disease.

“In order to make this disease fit the definition of a global pandemic, WHO changed the definition from ‘a life-threatening disease which spreads between humans, and to which they have little or no immunity” to ‘a minor disease which spreads between humans, and to which they have little or no immunity’. Since the consequences of a declared Level 6 pandemic are primarily economic and political, we see this as a decision mediated by those considerations, not public health ones.

Dr. Laibow says about the practice of self-quarantine, “Self-shielding (or quarantine) during the early to late stages of a natural pandemic is a highly conservative, traditional medical response to infectious disease. This right is all the more important in the face of a manifestly manipulated ‘pandemic panic’ being used to ‘push’ dangerous vaccine shots. The threat of an uninsurable ‘weaponized’ vaccine should frighten the public into demanding immediate legislative protection for their right to self-quarantine and we call upon our legislative representatives to act forthwith to protect this important civil right.”

Bear in mind, however, that the genetically engineered, weaponized Swine Flu might, as of today, according to the CDC currently be infecting as many as 100,000 Americans. What kind of pandemic is that? An organism which is infecting hundreds of thousands of people who have no symptoms, virtually no deaths (and no reason to believe that those deaths ascribed to the organism are, in fact, associated with it) is not something to vaccinate against. In order to even halfway justify calling these events a “Pandemic”, the World Health Organization changed the meaning of “Pandemic” from a widespread communicable disease condition to which people have no previous immunity and which causes widespread disease and death to, well, uh, er, a disease which is transmitted from one person to another in more than two regions of the globe but without necessary disease consequences of any significance. But which may come back more unpleasantly this fall, JUST when we have a new vaccine ready which people will be forced to take so they can be protected against a disease which just about nobody dies from and which has never been shown to be a health threat of any major consequence anywhere in the world.
In fact, to make it clear just how little credibility the CDC, WHO and vaccine mafia actually have, it is worth remembering what the MMD, the Media of Mass Deception, appears to have totally forgotten: dying from Swine Flu may actually be good for your health if you are Mexican because of the 168 people confirmed dead of H1N1 Swine Flu by the US CDC, 152 of them came back to life in a miracle of biblical proportions.
Clearly, the rush to vaccinate, and to create a “Pandemic” is a political and economic one, not based on any public health threat whatsoever.
I believe that the real danger from this weaponized agent is the possibly lethal impact of the vaccine which will be presented to you and those you are responsible for along with the political danger of loss of liberty in the mad rush to “safety” from this non-pandemic pandemic. The other danger, of course, is what will happen to people who are quarantined in internment camps and what will happen to people who live through the events which will inevitably surround the creation of a phony “Pandemic” with all its attendant militarization and abusive controls.
This outstanding article which follows by William Engdahl makes a number of important points. The rush to mandatory vaccination Swine Flu, in the UK, France, Massachusetts, NY and elsewhere for Swine Flu, a disease which may not even exist (read on!), is madness.
Vaccines are extremely dangerous. No insurance company in the world will insure against the risks inherent in vaccination and they are, in fact, characterized as uninsurable risks which a special US fund (paid for by vaccine recipients) has paid out over 2billion dollars from to parents of children killed or maimed by vaccinations. The vast majority of vaccine damage are never compensated. The US Government has removed all potential liability from vaccine manufacturers making them totally invulnerable to legal repercussions for the dangerous and often deadly products they produce and sell at enormous profits.
In fact, vaccines are explicitly acknowledged not to protect against the diseases they supposedly are designed to prevent (read the Package Inserts for vaccines, available on line and in your doctors’ offices if you doubt that) and often to result in the very disease to which they are supposed to make you immune.
Vaccines are,however immensely, enormously and hideously profitable, however and so the Pharmaceutical Cartel, with virtually limitless amounts of money to bribe legislators and regulators (pretty inexpensive, all in all) and buy science (moderately expensive), public opinion (about 4 billion dollars a year) has bought for itself and its deadly products a respectability it does not deserve for products which should, in a rational society, be banned forever.
Vaccines are not automatically either safe or effective. In fact, they have never been scientifically found to be either safe OR effective. For that reason, the Natural Solutions Foundation has submitted a Citizens Petition (a law suit against the Government) to the Federal Trade Commission to compel them to prohibit advertising across state lines or via other channels which they control which suggests or implies that vaccines and their components have been found to be safe, effective or both.
Public health is, as William Engdahl points out, being militarized. But the Natural Solutions Foundation believes that forced vaccination, like forced drugging, is both wrong-headed and enormously dangerous. We therefore ask you to join us in urging decision-makers to rescind their dangerous, potentially lethal, rush to compulsory vaccination and involuntary quarantine for those who refuse vaccination with the far saner, safer and infinitely more freedom-saving
option of self quarantine. Instead of being forcibly detained for an indefinite period, self-quarantine allows you to protect yourself while staying at home, eating foods you have stockpiled for such an eventuality in your own surroundings, able to communicate with friends, family, etc.
Lawmakers in the US have already decided that in the event of a pandemic like the one that the World Health Organization says it is about to declare for the absurd and possibly non-existent “H1N1 Swine Flu” that you will be required to take whatever vaccine they throw at you or face incarceration under both the Emergency Medical Powers Acts passed by virtually every State AND the Patriot Acts I, II and II plus BARDA at the Federal Level.

Sarkozy’s Secret Plan for Mandatory Swine Flu Vaccination

The French Government is developing secret plans to impose mandatory vaccination of the entire French population, allegedly against possible Swine Flu disease according to reports leaked in a French newspaper. The plan is without precedent and even defies recommended public health advice. Pharmaceutical giants benefit from the move, as the Swine Flu increases the trend to militarization of public health and use of needless population panic to advance the agenda.
The Sarkozy government has authorized spending of an estimated €1 billion to buy vaccines allegedly to combat or protect against H1N1 Swine Flu virus.
According to a report in the May 30 edition of the French newspaper, Le Journal du Dimanche, the Sarkozy government has authorized spending of an estimated €1 billion to buy vaccines allegedly to combat or protect against H1N1 Swine Flu virus. The only problem is that to date neither the WHO nor the US Government’s Center for Diseases Control (CDC) have succeeded to isolate, photograph with an electron microscope and chemically classify the H1N1 Influenza A virus. There is no scientifically published evidence that French virologists have done so either. To mandate drugs for a putative disease that has not even been characterized is dubious to say the least.
Even more bizarre is the admission by the US Government’s Food & Drug Administration, an agency responsible for health and safety of its citizens, that the ‘test’ is approved for premature release to test for H1N1 is not even a proven test. More to the point, there is no forensic evidence in any of the deaths reported to date that has been presented that proves scientifically that any single death being attributed to H1N1 Swine Flu virus was indeed caused by such a virus. European epidemiologists believe the deaths reported to date are ‘coincidental’ or what are called opportunistic infections.
What we know conclusively is that the people who died often had prior respiratory complications of an undisclosed nature. People die every day with respiratory diseases. In the USA alone some 36,000 flu-related deaths are recorded yearly with no undue panic or alarm. Most are elderly or patients with lung diseases. To date in all France, 24 people have been identified by health authorities as even having ‘symptoms’ of H1N1. It is worth noting that the WHO and CDC list the symptoms of H1N1: temperature, coughing, headache, runny nose. Hmmmmm. Do you know anyone with such Swine Flu symptoms? Also worth noting is that in the counting of the more than 15,000 ‘confirmed’ H1N1 Swine Flu cases worldwide the vast majority made miraculous recovery within three to seven days, just as in the case of a bad cold.
The goal: Militarization of Public Health
Increasingly it is becoming clear that the successive waves of mass panic created in recent years by CDC, WHO and leading government agencies has an ulterior motive. We have been hit with mass panic over eating beef when cattle in the UK and elsewhere developed fatal illness that was called BSE or ‘Mad Cow’ disease. Later evidence emerged that BSE was the result of vaccination of the cows to kill harmless insects that got under the animal’s skin. More recently, after reports of incidence of what is called ‘Blue Tongue’ disease in cows, sheep and goats in Belgium and Holland in 2006, animal veterinary authorities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria imposed mandatory vaccination or treatment with drugs allegedly to protect the animals from bites by insects allegedly carrying the usually harmless illness.
The vaccinations of the animal herds has been made mandatory for an illness that typically was so mild as to go unnoticed and in only extreme rare cases could be tied to death. All animals after three months must be vaccinated. The vaccines, according to a report in the Swiss publication Aegis-Impuls from 2008, resulted in mass deaths, decreased birth rates, decline in milk yields, heart attack and other severe effects. The vaccines were used despite the fact none apparently had been previously certified as safe. They typically contained aluminium hydroxide and Thiomersol or mercury, as adjuvants and or preservatives, both highly toxic and both also used in most human vaccines.
Despite mass protests and reports to the veterinary authorities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, the warnings went unheeded and mandatory mass vaccinations continued. Little wonder that farmers are taking their tractors to the streets to protest.
The report of a secret French government plan to vaccinate every French citizen over three months of age, over 100 million doses, is more than alarming. According to the French Le Journal du Dimanche, anticipating a probable return of the virus in the fall, the government will spend nearly a billion euros to buy vaccines. Authorities will announce in the fall if they decide to make the vaccine mandatory. “We will be ready to go in a very short time”, explains the Minister of Health. According to sources, the state wants to order 100 million doses of flu vaccine from three laboratories, GlaxoSmithKline, Sanofi and Novartis. The latter two are French companies.
The French report comes just after the State of Massachusetts State Senate passed a mandatory vaccination bill that authorizes mandatory vaccination against purported H1N1 Swine Flu. In New York State the state hospital planning authority is debating making mandatory annual vaccination against flu of all public health employees, despite the fact that no approved vaccine for H1N1 exists. More and more it is beginning to appear that the scare about pandemic from flying birds or flying pigs is an excuse to justify mandatory vaccination with substances whose harmful side effects are demonstrably worse than any flu they should guard us against.
Novavax, a US pharmaceutical company based in Rockville, Maryland, conveniently enough just announced it is developing a vaccine for H1N1 based on “virus-like particles” that contain three key proteins of the flu virus without the genes required for replication. The vaccine is produced by techniques of genetic modification of organisms or GMO. The announcement came within days of the company announcing losses for the fiscal year of $36 million.
The drug Tamiflu which is officially recommended by the WHO as treatment to ‘ameliorate’ the symptoms of possible Swine Flu or H1N1 Influenza A as it has been renamed, is itself highly toxic. Health Canada informed Canadians of international reports of hallucinations and abnormal behavior, including self harm, in patients taking the antiviral drug Tamiflu. In some cases death was the result and severe lung complications are widely reported associated with Tamiflu, the drug whose main financial benefactor is believed to be its largest stockholder, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.
In 1976 in the US President Gerald Ford, nervous about winning a close election ordered mass immunization of the population in the face of a possible pandemic to show voters he was a ‘hands on’ President. The 1976 pandemic never came but a vast number of people suffered serious neurological side effects from the vaccine that was rushed into production, including 25 reported deaths from Guillain-Barré syndrome.
Mandatory vaccination with drugs whose side effects are unknown because they have not been rigorously and independently tested begins to smack of the kind of inhuman mass human experiments carried out in the United States with mentally retarded, prisoners and other disadvantaged people or in Germany during the 1930’s.

Why Vaccine Injured Kids are Rarely Compensated

On Nov. 14, 1986, President Ronald Reagan signed the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 into law, instituting first-time vaccine safety reforms in the U.S. vaccination system and creating the first no-fault federal vaccine injury compensation program alternative to a lawsuit against vaccine manufacturers and pediatricians. Twenty-two years later, on Nov. 18, 2008, I made a statement to the Advisory Commission on Childhood Vaccines (ACCV) and questioned whether the compensation program is fatally flawed and so broken that it should be repealed. Many parents are wondering whether it would be better to return to civil court without restrictions to sue vaccine manufacturers and doctors for injuries and deaths their children suffered after receiving federally recommended vaccines.
During its two-decade history, two out of three individuals applying for federal vaccine injury compensation have been turned away empty-handed even though to date $1.8 billion has been awarded to more than 2,200 plaintiff’s out of some 12,000 who have applied. Today, nearly 5,000 vaccine injury claims are sitting in limbo because they represent children, who suffered brain and immune system dysfunction after vaccination but have been diagnosed with regressive autism, which is not recognized by the program as a compensable event. There is $2.7 billion sitting in the Trust Fund which could have been awarded to vaccine victims.
At the time of the law’s creation in 1986, Congress said they were committed to setting up a fair, expedited, non-adversarial, less traumatic, less expensive no-fault compensation mechanism alternative to civil litigation. But Congress also acknowledged that any legislation providing liability protection must also be equally committed to preventing vaccine harm. The Act contains strong safety provisions, including first-time mandates for doctors to record and report serious health problems, hospitalizations, injuries and deaths after vaccination and give parents written benefit and risk information before a child is vaccinated.
But few of the safety provisions have been enforced and, as I testified in Congress in 1999 and again at the Nov. 18 ACCV meeting, there has been a betrayal of the promise that was made to parents about how the compensation program would be implemented. Obtaining compensation has become a highly adversarial, time-consuming, traumatic and expensive process for families of vaccine injured children and far too many vaccine victims have been denied compensation while vaccine makers and doctors have enjoyed liability protection and dozens of doses of nine new vaccines have been added to the childhood vaccine schedule.
I pointed out that federal court judges are beginning to look back at the legislative history of the Act, which so clearly affirms the intent of Congress when creating it. In recent court decisions, judges have agreed with parents and their attorneys that the compensation program has become far too difficult for plaintiffs. A recent state Supreme Court ruling also reiterated that Congress never intended to shield vaccine manufacturers from ALL liability for vaccine injuries and deaths when it could be demonstrated that a safer product could have been marketed.
In a Supreme Court of Georgia ruling on October 6, 2008 in American Home Products v. Ferrari, the justices unanimously held that the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act does not give a vaccine manufacturer blanket immunity from vaccine injury lawsuits if it can be proven that the company could have made a safer vaccine. Georgia Supreme Court Justice George Carley wrote that the 1986 law and “the congressional intent behind it shows that the Vaccine Act does not pre-empt all design defect claims.” He added that Congress did not “use language which indicates that use of the compensation system is mandatory” but only “an appealing alternative” to the courts.
Justice Carley wrote that there is no evidence that “FDA approval alone renders a vaccine unavoidably safe” and said “We hesitate to hold that a manufacturer is excused from making changes it knows will improve its product merely because an older, more dangerous version received FDA approval,” adding that to do so would have “the perverse effect” of granting complete immunity from liability to an entire industry and he concluded that “in the absence of any clear and manifest congressional purpose to achieve that result, we must reject such a far-reaching interpretation.”
During the ACCV meeting, longtime plaintiff’s attorney Sherry Drew gave a moving description of the suffering that families with vaccine injured children endure and, during public comment at the end of the meeting, Jim Moody, of SafeMinds, and Vicky Debold, RN, PhD joined me in urging the Committee to recommend to the new Secretary of DHHS that more vaccine injured children be compensated. This was echoed by outgoing parent ACCV member Tawny Buck, of Alaska, who has a DPT vaccine injured daughter and new ACCV parent member Sarah Hoiberg, of Florida, who has a DTaP vaccine injured daughter.
In the 1986 Vaccine Injury Act, the Institute of Medicine was directed to review the medical literature for scientific evidence that vaccines can cause injury and death, which resulted in landmark reports to Congress in 1991 and 1994 providing that evidence. IOM announced at the ACCV meeting that it has recently been contracted by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to assemble a Committee of scientific experts to review of the medical literature for evidence regarding the biological mechanisms for injury and death in association with varicella zoster (chicken pox), hepatitis B, meningococcal and HPV vaccine. There will be several public workshops during the Committee’s two-year study.
NVIC has been calling for basic science research into the biological mechanisms of vaccine injury and death for more than two decades. Without understanding how and why vaccines can cause brain and immune system dysfunction, there will be no way to develop pathological profiles to help scientifically confirm whether or not an individual has been injured or died from vaccination.
The truth about vaccine risks lies in the science, properly designed and conducted. The upcoming IOM review may be hampered by a lack of biological mechanism studies published in the medical literature but the review is also an opportunity to point the way to fill in those gaps in knowledge and the need for additional research that could become part of a national vaccine safety research agenda.
In the absence of scientific certainty, all children who regress into poor health after vaccination should be given a fair hearing in the federal vaccine injury compensation program and generously compensated when no other plausible cause can be found for what happened to them after vaccination. Congress intended the vaccine injury compensation program to be non-adversarial, fair, generous and humane. If it cannot function the way it was intended to function, then parents have every right to call for its repeal and a return to unrestricted lawsuits.

Citing price as the reason, Alaska authorities backed off requiring – and providing – Gardasil shots to young girls and women.
While it is possible to see this announcement as just another cost-cutting measure, the liklihood is that the serious controversy around this unnecessary, dangerous and ineffective vaccine which actually increases cervical cancer incidence in women by as much as 44.7% is the real cause for this back-off.
Whatever the reason, girls in Alaska whose families cannot pay for this shot are a great deal better off than girls whose families can afford it and do make the much hyped, but dangerous decision to give their daughters Gardasil.
Vaccination is so dangerous, despite the hype and hoopla which supports this very profitable segment of the pharmaceutical industry, that it is a totally uninsurable risk. That means that no insurance company will provide a policy to the manufactures to protect them from the liability law suits that they could be exposed to when their products cause harm.
Who will pay if Gardasil causes death and damage? Surely not Merck, Gardasil’s manufacturer. The FDA, the supposed “regulatory agency” which keeps dangerous products off the market, bowed to pressure and conflict of interest and rushed Gardasil through without adequate trials to establish even short term safety. And it has done something else. It has removed any threat of liability from any drug or vaccine manufacturer who causes harm through their product IF that product has been approved for any thing at all by the FDA.
So who will pay for the death and damage to otherwise healthy girls and women who died or were crippled in the immediate post-vaccination period? Who will pay for the cancers and deaths yet to come in a poorly tested vaccine which was rushed to market to make, literally, a killing without proper evaluation? Who will compensate women who cannot bear children as a consequence of this vaccination for the grief of their infertility, should that be one of the long-term effects of Gardasil injection? Who will pay for the injury to children and husbands who loose their mothers and wives prematurely if Gardasil is a long-term killer?
No one.

For the first time in more than 30 years, the State of Alaska will no longer offer all vaccinations free to all Alaska schoolchildren, the state Division of Epidemiology reported this week.
When the new policy begins on Jan. 1, two of the newest and most expensive vaccines — immunizations for girls to prevent cervical cancer and for both boys and girls to prevent meningitis — will only be offered free to low-income, uninsured or Alaska Native and American Indian children.
Other Alaskans will have to rely on health insurance policies to cover the expense, or pay for the vaccines themselves.
Federal funding of the state’s universal immunization program has failed to keep pace with the increasing cost and rising number of recommended vaccines, said Laurel Wood, manager of the Alaska Immunization Program.
For that reason, the state will cut back on two of more than a dozen vaccines it currently distributes to Alaska health care providers at no cost, including:
• Gardasil, the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine for girls, and
• Menactra, the meningococcal vaccine for boys and girls.
Under provisions of the federally funded Vaccines for Children program, both immunizations will continue to be offered free to young Alaskans who are Medicaid-eligible.
They will also be offered at federally funded health clinics (including the Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center) to “under-insured” children whose family policies don’t cover the cost of vaccines.
Fifteen older vaccines — including immunizations to protect children against hepatitis, diphtheria, polio, tetanus, measles, mumps, chickenpox and influenza — will continue to be offered free to all Alaskans under 18 years of age, regardless of income or insurance.

After the cutback, about 4,000 Alaska girls in need of the HPV vaccine and about 5,500 boys and girls in need of the meningococcal vaccine won’t be covered, Wood said.
The meningococcal vaccine costs the state $76 a dose, Wood said. The HPV vaccine — which requires three doses over a period of six months — costs about $300 per child for the complete series.
Trying to provide those vaccines at no cost to all Alaska school children would require an additional $1.6 million, Wood said.
The number of recommended vaccines has grown along with their costs, the Alaska Epidemiology Bulletin reported this week. In 2000 the entire battery of recommended vaccines cost $219 per child. Today the cost is $1,120 for boys and $1,429 for girls.
The cost of the HPV vaccine is the budget-buster.
Last year the state managed to cover that extra cost by tapping additional funds provided by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Wood said. But that was a one-time fix.
“It was basically a disproportionate amount of money for the size of our population compared with other states,” Wood said.
Since the HPV vaccine was first made available in June 2007, the state has distributed 33,000 free doses to girls between 9 and 18 years of age, Wood said.
The vaccine is recommended for young women up to the age of 26, but it’s not mandatory to attend public schools.
The meningococcal vaccine was first made available in January, 2006. Since then the state has distributed about 36,000 free doses to boys and girls between 11 and 18 years of age,” Wood said.
