Dr. Rima Replies: “Your Kid Has No Right to Make My Kid Sick!” by Arthur C. Caplan, PhD

In response to Dr. Caplan’s Article Your Kid Has No Right to Make My Kid Sick!
To Take Action Click Here.

You are absolutely right, Dr. Caplan. If your kid gets vaccinated and is shedding infectious viruses which make my kid sick, your kid’s vaccination has endangered my kid and neither of you has a right to do that (nor do you or your wife, for that matter, given that people shed infectious organisms for 21 days or longer after nasal vaccination and other vaccinations!).

Further, if your kid is unlucky enough to be vaccinated (and I am sure he/she would be, given your public positions on the topic) and develops the increasingly common phenomenon of vaccine failure (getting the disease against which your kid has been vaccinated), your kid’s infection threatens my kid’s health during the incubation period before symptoms emerge, given that these infectious diseases are often more virulent than those which occur from native strains in un-vaccinated people.

Let’s face it, Dr. Kaplan: herd immunity does not exist. If your kid’s vaccine is effective, your kid won’t get the disease(s) against which he/she has been protected by the vaccine. If my kid is unvaccinated, and you can be sure that he/she will be, complete with legal exemptions, the only dangers from vaccines are 1) contagion originating among the vaccinated and 2) the legal bullying which your continuing harangues support and are used to justify.

There are two possibilities that I can see here:

1. You really are so genuinely scientifically uninformed that you believe what you are saying. After all, you are a bio ethicist, not a scientist. You offer up opinions but are not trained as a scientist. Dr. Paul Offit, whom I believe you know, says that we need ‘Journalism Jail’ for people who write and speak about vaccine science without proper qualifications. Bio Ethics is hardly a proper qualification to speak on scientific matters.

In that case, I suggest that you take the time to become informed enough to revise your positions on vaccinations since they are not supported by either reproducible science or epidemiology. I will remind you that Sanjay Gupta, MD, who is trained in these areas, recently decided that his position on hemp was wrong and publicly revised it, much to his credit.

2. You serve another master besides truth or ethics and it is profitable for you to disseminate incorrect information. If that is the case, there is something very biological about this, since the impulse to acquire goods and power is part of the biological matrix we are built upon, but there is certainly nothing ethical about it.

Dr. Rima Replies: Vaccine Movement is Illogical

Dr. Rima Replies: Vaccine Movement is Illogical

In response to Kevan Hulligan’s Article ‘Anti-vaccination’ movement is illogical
To Take Action Click Here.

Sorry. Your article is both wrong headed and, itself, illogical.

The statistics and epidemiological data are very clear: despite the religious fervor, not a single vaccine has reduced the incidence, prevalence or severity of a single infectious disease. Clean water, improved hygiene and nutrition did.

Edward Jenner was a mountebank who bought his medical degree for 25lbs from the University of Edinburgh and published his “results” before he conducted his “experiments”.

Although I believe that few people involved in vaccinology today are of the same cast of mind, the fact is that epidemics can be predicted by tracking vaccination programs: to misquote Freud, “Where vaccine is, there epidemic shall be”.

The epidemics include autism. No, it makes no sense to inject mercury (vials washed with mercury contain biologically meaningful amounts of mercury so that the total current vaccine schedule puts more mercury in children\s bodies than the total schedule did 20 years ago – and the autism rates make that clear. Flu vaccines contain mercury and babies are being damaged in utero by them in a frankly insane “public health” policy.)

Herd immunity is an absurd apologia for a failed health strategy: if vaccines worked, the vaccination status of the un-vaccinated would be irrelevant.

It is relevant to point out that according to US law, every vaccine approved for deployment in the US must be tested and found to be both safe and efficacious. In fact, only one placebo controlled, double blind study on a vaccine has ever been done where the placebo was not mercury (Thimerisol, 49.5% mercury by weight) or a much more dangerous vaccine known to have severe side effects (e.g., rabies).

That study showed that although any protective impact of the flu vaccine was not statistically significant, the likelihood of vaccinated people contracting serious pulmonary infections increased by more than 400%.

Un-vaccinated children are consistently found to be healthier than vaccinated ones.

Sorry. Being concerned about the health effects of vaccines is logical. Assurances that they are safe are profoundly illogical, based on the lack of evidence thereof.

Gardasil, for example, was found to result in death in 1 woman receiving it in 918 IN A STUDY BY MERCK, THE MANUFACTURER.
What is illogical about worrying about those odds?

Vaccine refusers do not endanger others. Vaccine dispensers do. And those who wish to exercise their best judgement for themselves and those they care for are prudent, reasonable and deserve our commendation for that prudence, not our condemnation for their independence of thought.

The only way to “assuage the fears and [misconceived] notions regarding these matters” is to acknowledge that the medical profession has made a hideous, and brutally defended, error and stop putting ineffective and unnecessary toxins in people.

Dr. Rima Replies: Proposed Forum on Vaccine Politics

By Rima E. Laibow M.D. on April 2, 2014 No Comments

Dr. Rima Replies: Proposed Forum on Vaccine Politics

In response to The Associated Press’ Article Vanderbilt hosts forum on the politics of childhood vaccines
To Take Action Click Here.

I wish I could attend. Childhood vaccination is a sacred cow of the highest order, so high, in fact, that the destruction of generations of children’s brains and immune systems is nearly invisible behind the “obvious good” of vaccination.

What is obvious is that a close examination of vaccine dangers, such as the recent studies showing that —

– 42.5% of all adverse drug reactions in children, which only looked at short term adverse events, is directly due to vaccines

– vaccinated children are routinely less healthy vaccinated ones

– most epidemics occur in the vaccinated

– all infectious disease rates were dropping before the introduction of the vaccines that supposedly wiped them out, and some, such as Hepatitis B, actually rose after the introduction of the vaccinations

– 1 woman in 981 receiving Gardasil will die as an adverse event linked to the vaccine (source: Merck-funded and published study)

– the total amount of mercury in the current vaccine schedule (including “mercury free vaccines”) is, because of the use of Thimerisol to wash even single dose vials is higher than when all childhood vaccines contained mercury

– despite total tort immunity for vaccine makers, the Vaccine Special Master’s Court has paid out nearly $3Billion US in awards for damage although most cases never get heard.

So I fully concur: a forum that looks squarely at political, medical and ethical debates surrounding childhood vaccines is most welcome, as long as the look is square, not blinded by commercial and other constraints that obscure the scientific and epidemiological realities so often buried under rhetoric and villification of the dissident, non-vaccine supporter.

So, will the forum be a whitewash or a debate and exploration?

I am looking forward to publication of the unedited videos of the discussion.
