The Senate Judiciary Committee is planning to debate – and approve – S.3767 as early as tomorrow, September 23, 2010. It is entirely likely that while moving this bill forward, the text of dangerous, Codex-friendly S.510 will be introduced into that bill as an amendment; perhaps even elements of the long-discredited fake dietary supplement “safety” bill, S.3002 might worm their way in… Right now, to the tooth gnashing frustration of the Uber Cartel, S.510 has been stalled by Senator Coburn’s courageous hold on it. Please take a moment to tip your hat to Dr. Coburn and honor him for character unbecoming a politician: courage, the ability to act for the common good and willingness to buck the tide for what is clearly right. (Action Item No. 3 above.) Men and women of principle need to know that we know what they are doing and what they are facing for doing it!
We only have from the time you receive this email to the time when Committee consideration of S. 3767 is opened to make sure that two things occur:
1. The opposition to the bill is so enormous that it dies in committee and
2. There is simply no Senatorial will to attach S.510 as an amendment

“There are times when whether each of us acts or not can change history and, with it, our own destiny. Whether we can access clean, locally produced, organic food or not impacts our health, longevity and quality of life. So does whether we can access high potency nutrients. The Senate, at the behest of Big Agribiz and Big Pharma, is very close to passing legislation which will end those choices for us and bring in International standards (e.g., Codex Alimentarius) to restrict our freedoms and degrade our food.
The Senate Judiciary Committee will act to move these restrictions forward tomorrow, September 23, 2010. Stop the Shot3 Law Suit Moves Forward
The Natural Solutions Foundation’s ground breaking Stop the Shot Law Suit is ready to move in for Round 3.
Round 1: We filed a law suit in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia when New York’s Governor declared a universal mandate requiring the vaccination of every New York State HealthCare Worker. A couple days before New York State had to meet us in Federal Court, VOILA! NY decided that there was, in fact, not enough vaccine to go around and “temporarily suspended” the mandate. The Judge’s comment? “Well, you’ve won!”
We raised the issue of the New Jersey preschool student mandate and he acknowledged that we could come back into his Court with plaintiffs who were under that state’s mandate to vaccinate children in State Registered daycare facilities saying that he believed that the case should be tried.
Round 2: We prepared to come back into Court with plaintiffs whose young children were required to be vaccinated or face not being able to enroll in NJ State certified Day Care Institutions. Just days before the papers were scheduled to be filed in Federal Court, VOILA! NJ decided that there was, in fact, not enough vaccine to go around and suspended the mandate for that year. The Judge’s comment would have been, “Well, you’ve won again!”
The Judge had suggested we return to court bringing some plaintiffs whose harm has already been made manifest. ‘If there are women who have lost babies, please bring them into Court, too’, was the message.
Round 3 had to wait for something to happen: First, the US CDC decided that although the absurd Level 6 Pandemic had officially been called off by the WHO, the un-safety-tested H1N1 Swine Flu vaccine would, for no reason that we can understand, be included in the seasonal flu shot and second, the CDC began recommending, as we predicted they would, universal flu vaccination for everyone 6 months and older (including pregnant women, which vaccinates babies who are not even born yet). Furthermore, it is recommended that all health care workers be forced to receive the vaccines. These recommendations are coming through the CDC’s Advisory Committee and are published on the official MMWR site. These recommendations are being turned into mandates by employers and school districts, thereby privatizing the mandate, and by states like New York for health care workers.
The absurd notion of “herd immunity” is being invoked like the rabbit in a hat that it is: if vaccines work, why does it matter what the vaccination status of the next person is? If vaccines work, the person receiving the vaccine would be protected and someone who chooses not to receive the vaccine could not pass the disease to the vaccinated… if vaccines worked. Cases of flu are among the top side effects of vaccination: scientific studies continue to show that immunity to the flu virus is, on the other hand, NOT among those side effects.
These vaccines are untested, unnecessary, unsafe, uninsurable and unthinkable once you understand what is at stake: your health AND your freedom.
So what do we need from you to make sure that this case goes ahead with as many strong plaintiffs and all the legal research and support that we need to win it? We need your donations. You see, 42 USC 300 is the National Vaccine Compensation Act section which says that a Special Vaccine Court with a Special Vaccine Master will preside over claims of vaccine injury and, if the plaintiff prevails, will award damages to the injured party or their survivors. It is the Court which recently found in favor of Hanah Polling, the vaccine injured autistic child who received 9 vaccines on the same day and promptly became unreachable by her family or by life – she became an autistic child. That same law mandates that the Secretary of HHS make sure vaccines are as safe as they can be… How safe are they? Not safe at all.
21USC351 is the Adulterated Drugs Act which requires that drugs and vaccines be proven safe BEFORE they are used. Under it, if it were actually enforced, the H1N1 vaccine, every other flu vaccine and every other vaccine of any type, would be illegal. As it is, about half of all the drugs FDA approves are later taken off the market or have their indications restricted. FDA doesn’t get it right at least half the time…

Subject: Senator Reid’s response re: S.510
There is a problem with Senator Reid taking a cue about “Food Safety” from Senator Durbin of Illinois. Firstly, having grown up there and still following its politics, Illinois is a pick-pockety, control- freaky state that brooks much more government interference in the lives of its citizens than would be acceptable to more independently-minded Nevadans.
Secondly, industrial agriculture is a major sector of the Illinois economy whereas anything on that scale cannot possibly be supported by Nevada’s sparse rainfall. Farming in Illinois is characterized by so many dreadful practices anathema to Permaculture. Herbicides, pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used in abundance. The vast majority of farms are now using GMO seeds which supposedly thrive in this unnatural environment. But it is a losing battle as the pests inevitably evolve resistance. The whole toxic soup drains down the Mississippi watershed to create a huge dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico.
Thankfully the ecology of the Great Basin is far removed from the industrial wasteland of the Midwest. But the tentacles of a corrupt, omnipotent federal government reach even farther from the banks of Potomac. As Majority Leader, Senator Reid may feel far removed from his Nevada constituents, but he has to account for his deeds every six years, and in this close election year we have the right to expect a very careful accounting. At the very least, Harry Reid should allow the hold on S.510 to remain in place until after the election. That is the only way for a full airing of its provisions and their possible implications for sustainable agriculture.

Thank you for your recent letter on the Food Safety Modernization Act, S.510. The health and safety of Nevadans has always been one of my top priorities during my career in the Senate.
Nevadans and families across the nation are fortunate to enjoy one of the safest and most abundant food supplies in the world, but we should make our food even safer. Every year millions of people become seriously ill and may even die from food borne illnesses. Unfortunately, our food and safety laws have not kept pace with changing food production and our current laws are outdated and cumbersome.
On March 3, 2009, Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois introduced the Food Safety Modernization Act (S.510) to modernize and improve food safety under the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The bill has been approved by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and may now be considered by the full Senate. S.510 creates preventative programs and expands the authority of the Secretary of Health and Human Services in order to promote the safety through inspections and recalls of tainted products. The bill requires food manufacturers and distributors to follow new sanitary food practices, increase food inspections, and keep more thorough records tracking food products. The bill also give the FDA the authority to recall tainted foods, rather than relying solely on voluntary recalls from food producers.

Consumers Union, an NGO that touts itself as “…working for a fair, just and safe marketplace for all…” sent a mass emailing earlier today saying this about S.510, the fake “food safety” bill before the US Senate:
“Under the Senate’s complicated rules, just one Senator can hold up a vote on a bill. And because of that rule, the long-delayed food safety bill could die in the coming days without ever getting an up-or-down vote this year! That would mean food producers will continue to operate indefinitely under our outdated food safety system – a system that contributed to 85 food recalls this past year, including tainted lettuce, sprouts, cookie dough and a half-billion eggs!”
Consumers Union wants debate cut-off on this issue, that’s what the “hold up a vote” means in this case. The proponents of S.510, taking the cue perhaps from Secretary of HHS, Kathleen Sibelius’s famous call for self-censorship by the media on certain health issues,
“There are groups out there that insist that vaccines are responsible for a variety of problems, despite all scientific evidence to the contrary. We (the office of Secretary of Health and Human Services) have reached out to media outlets to try to get them not to give the views of these people equal weight in their reporting.” – http://drrimatruthreports.com/?p=4962
Be that as it may, the challenge is clear: it is our PUSH BACK power vs their ability to mobilize the beltway crowd.
Why the rush to add what Senator Coburn tells us could be billions to the Federal budget at this moment? Could it be that the new Congress may not be as favorable to the beltway crowd? Are they running scared? We believe this is exactly the strategic situation. Natural Solutions Foundation’s President and chief strategist, Maj. Gen. Bert Stubblebine (US Army ret) tells us, “The Art of War teaches us to apply Mass at the opponent’s weak point, and the actions of the opponent always reveal that weak point.”

A couple eblasts ago our subject line was “Harry Reid Wants You Dead” and some people thought we were being extremists… This blast asks if “Consumers” Union wants us dead. We were, in both cases, using hyperboli to make our point: the consequences of the policy positions taken by the Senate Leader and by the “Consumers” Union could be deadly, as our local, natural, family farm and ranch, farmers’ markets, commuity and home gardens could all fall victim to over zealous regulators leaving us to rely on the very factory “farms” and the GMO, toxin laced “Phud” (we don’t call it “food” anymore) from which the Federal regulators have repeatedly failed to protect us! They say they need more power; we say, echoing Ron Paul’s condemnation of them, more extensive regulatory power is just more power to abuse!
Solution: local control of local food sources so people can choose natural solutions instead of being forced to accept the fake “frankenphud” Big Agra Biz and its friends in and out of government want to push down our throats. Push Back here!

Tom Coburn, MD, US Senator from Oklahoma, is holding up “unanimous consent” approval of the fake “food safety” bill S.510
Dr. Coburn has released a white paper on the Bill, outlining some of the reasons for opposing it, commenting, “The way the bill is written the authority is extremely broad and could be used by FDA to issue very specific and onerous regulations on food facilities, without even the normal rule-making and guidance process FDA food regulations normally go through.”
The Trustees of Natural Solutions Foundation want to thank Senator Coburn for his strong public opposition to S. 510, which would force the industrialization of our local, organic, safe food supplies, turning them over to the very factory-farm system that has failed to protect the safety and wholesomeness of the factory “food” which has been the cause of recent food-poisoning incidents.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV):
Dear Senator Reid:
We, the People of These United States of America want to know, Senator Reid, how much we need to ante up to “see” Agribiz’ purchase of you and to raise the bid enough to buy your allegience. After all, Senator, you are both an ex-professional gambler and a professional politician and therefore understand how to play the game. You acted correctly on the morning of September 16, 2010, and announced that you would shelve S. 510, the disastrous Food Fascism Bill (deceptively titled the “Food Safety” Bill). True, you “blamed” that correct and corageous decision on Sen. Coburn of Oklahoma, whose steadfast opposition to the degredation and industrialization of our entire food supply has been a source of pride and gratification to anyone in the US who treasures sanity, freedom or clean food, but we understand that politics requires such CYA tactics.
Later that day, however, your reversed course and, citing a meeting with Rylee Gustafson of Henderson, NV, who was hospitalized as a 9-year-old in 2006 after “eating contaminated spinach”, you decided to support the destruction of the US food supply of clean, wholesome food instead. Senator Reid, did you ask Rylee whether the spinach he ate was produced by a local family farm, since it is factory farms, not family farms, including phoney industrial “organic” farms, which are the source of all US food borne diseases? CDC says that 1 American in 4 will be struck with food borne disease this year, but those diseases do not come from family farms, according to the CDC itself. Clearly FDA regulation is not working. We have a disastrously unsafe food supply precisely because it is a factory farm food supply, not in spite of it.
Did you ask if Rylee’s mom washed and cooked the spinach sufficiently to ensure its safety? Did you ask if Rylee’s mom’s kitchen had been inspected by the FDA Kitchen Police?
Despite the fact that factory farming is responsible for food borne disease, it is local and family farms which are slated for extinction by S. 510, in favor of their giant, and deadly, sound alikes. Both are called farms, but small, local farms produce safe food. Industrial farms produce disease and bribes.
Small, local, organic farms did not produce the recall of billions of tainted eggs two weeks ago. Just two factory farms produced all those billions of poisonous eggs, aided and abetted by the ineffective regulation of bloated, corrupt government agencies to whom S. 510 would give more power to abuse and more bloat to waste.
So tell us, Senator Reid, in the hours following your decision to table/kill S. 510 and your abrupt reversal of that decision to ram it through the Senate, what was the blood price which you accepted to sell America’s food supply, increasing the number of illnesses and deaths with the death of family farms, and our liberty, health, freedom along with it?
What emolluments were you offered, Sir, which would salve your conscience even temporarily sufficiently to allow you to announce that you would use the parliamentary procedure of cloture to cut off all debate on this bill and to ram it through the Senate?
You see, Senator, We, the People, understand the oft-repeated saw that “an honest politician is one who stays bought”. We do not have reason to believe that your decision is one which will stay bought since your decision did such an abrupt about-face. We would like to enter the game, Sir, that Big Agribiz and you are obviously playing.
What is the price you have put on your support or decision to ram this bill through, instead of killing it, Sir?

Clearly, this bill is not a “noncontroversial” bill that can be rushed through what is rapidly becoming a “lame-duck” Congress. The recent addition of a companion bill, S.3767, criminalizing food production, makes the situation even more controversial. Senator Coburn and others who see this realize these issues must be debated after full public hearings, in the new Congress about to be elected.
For more than a year, the plan to capture – and kill – clean, local, organic, independent and safe farming has been wending its way through Congress. Last year, the devastating HR 1279 passed although we put up a good battle, delaying it for quite a while. However, at the end of the day, a good battle followed by a loss is still a loss. Then the field of battle shifted to the US Senate, where we’ve held the forces of Big Agra and Big Govt at bay for nearly a year…
The bill as written threatens small farm, home, local/organic and community food production with onerous rules that, while perhaps appropriate for industrialized food production, will create impossible “barriers against entry” that will rapidly destroy such local and natural production. No protective language is included in the Senate bill that satisfies these concerns.
As an example of the type of controls imposed, Section 106 provides in part for the regulations issued to be kept secret from the public, “In the interest of national security, the Secretary … may determine the time and manner in which the guidance documents issued under paragraph (1) are made public…” This provision will allow secret regulations, in violation of centuries of American legal precedence. This provision alone is a clear and present threat to the Republic.
The bill as written, in effect, incorporates the “HARMonization” provisions of the discredited “Dietary Supplement Safety Act” S.3002 and actually calls upon the FDA to recommend harmonization of American nutritional freedoms with Codex Alimentarius’ restrictions [Section 306(c)(5)]. Further, Section 404: states “Nothing in this Act… shall be construed in a manner inconsistent with… any …treaty or international agreement to which the United States is a party.” These provisions set up a “road map” to the rapid, full implementation of Codex restrictions.
Senator Coburn is standing up to the combined forces of Big Agra Biz and several of the largest and most powerful Federal Agencies — government departments which have failed to protect the public and which see the only answer for their failures is to provide them with more money and more power.
We urge Senator Coburn and his colleagues to stand firm. We the People stand behind you!
