The War for Health Freedom…

Like it or not, we are fighting a real war- a war for our health and for our freedom to determine how we seek that health.

Perhaps a word about me is in order: I am a 60’s hippie. I have taken many stands and done much demonstrating. I have painted more than my share of signs (“Hey Teddy- Vitamin A for Night Blindness!”) and chanted more than my share of slogans.

I got involved in health issues because of my husband’s and my friendship with Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw, who are, like us, political libertarians. (But this isn’t about my beliefs or yours: we can agree on the need for freedom wherever we stand on the political spectrum!)

By the 80s and 90s, I was organizing people to support the adopting of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA) and to fight the FDA about specific regulations as well as organizing demonstrations in front of politicians’ homes and local FDA offices. But there were two important differences between those days and where we are now. For one thing, draconian laws such as the deceptively named Patriot Act did not exist. For another, we had what, in retrospect, was a significant luxury: we fought issues one or two at a time—now we are forced to take on dozens- all at once.

Codex is Just One Issue…

This is NOT just a battle for the defeat of dangerous CODEX regulations—this is a battle over many, many health related issues – forcing dangerous vaccination on our children, irradiating and virus spraying our foods; denigrating organic standards; violating our right to purchase raw milk and cheese; attacks on Estriol, DHEA and other natural, non-patentable hormones; continuing attacks on colloidal silver; dangerous and potentially lethal fluoridation of water; pharmaceuticals and toxins found in water supplies; a Supreme Court decision that prevents victims of defective medical devices from suing for damage even when the device is defective; regulations extending the protection given vaccinations (you cannot sue for damages; cannot be insured against them either) to ALL pharmaceuticals in the event of public health emergencies (of course we believe that will be expanded to “all the time” with a little nudge from Big Pharma); forced vaccinations and the toxins they carry; and then there is the biggie- Genetically Modified (GM) “foods” – Franken Foods! And Franken Products too, like the GM fibers that may be leading to the upsurge in Morgellon’s Disease-like reactions. These developments threaten not only our health and freedom, but the entire world food supply. So we have much on our ‘plate’.

Natural Solutions’ NetRoots – YOU!

Our success in fighting these issues lies with you, our wonderful NetRoots “Listees”! You are close to 200,000 in number and every time we ask you to join us in an eblast to Wash DC, you, our Mouse Warriors do—and you are very much noticed! We have been told that over and over again by the Congressional Aides whom Dr. Rima, Bert, Ralph, Maury and Charlie meet with when they visit the capitol to ‘educate’ those who pretend to represent us. Face it- many of them are there for the fat paychecks, the perks, the ridiculous retirement plan and having their egos stroked. I believe that they feel truly threatened that they may lose all that for them to do something decent and vote against the real Powers that Be – the Banksters, Big Pharma, the War Pushers and certain large multi-national corporations. But whether they want to or not, they have to hear us when we speak Truth to Power – in a roar!

So our power is in our numbers- and we need to GROW! A few hundred thousand emails to Congress are good. MILLIONS ARE BETTER – much better!! You are needed to help us to GROW. Talk about health issues to your friends. There will always be some who let the ‘other guy’ do all the work – forget them- talk to the ones with integrity and GET THEM SIGNED UP ON OUR LIST!!!!!!!!!!!! (The list is private, never sold, shared or bartered – that is part of our integrity: we promise.) I am quite certain that everyone reading this knows of at least ten people who agree with us- get them to eblast with us!! If you just sign up one person a week, and the people who seriously read these emails do that, we will soon be able to ‘force our issues’ and bring on pervasive change!!! If EVERYONE receiving this does their part, we will grow even faster! And the bigger we grow—the harder it will be for them to ignore us! We are already the largest and most effective health freedom force in the world. How about making that ten times larger!

It Takes Money to Defend Health Freedom.

Then there is the money issue. Many of our readers have been so hurt by the disastrous economic policies of this country that they simply cannot donate funding. We are grateful for their help with eblasts and prayers and do not expect them to send money. And while a small percentage who can afford to, do send funding, most of those receiving this email reap the benefits it brings but sit back waiting for more.

It’s one thing to ‘talk the talk’. It’s quite another to put your money – even in small amounts – where you mouth ‘talks’. Recurring donations are exceedingly important to us, even small ones. Whatever you can give will help us fight this fight together. If you can give more, please do! We are a tax exempt organization (and getting those receipts finally prepared!) so if you know of people who have money and want to make things better, do send them our way. Everything that comes our way is tax deductible! We have big bills due every month to maintain our site, pay those who handle our eblasts, pay our Wash DC ‘educator’, and pay for those horribly expensive trips to Codex Meetings (one is coming up in July, in Switzerland).

Codex and GMOs

Those Codex meetings are important. It is because of Dr. Rima Laibow that the GM labeling issue had to be pushed back at the last Codex meeting. It was Dr. Rima who provided the information and arguments that forced the delegates from the most health conscious nations to finally come to a resolution to resist the wishes of the US and keep mandatory GM labeling for Africa at the next Codex Africa meeting in January 2009, instead of removing the issue from the agenda, as the US would have liked. While there was a representative from another pro-health freedom group there, he sat and said nothing during the GM labeling debate. To his credit, he did finally make a comment as the meeting was ending. By the way, according to Codex rules, this organization, which is an Official Observer at Codex, MUST include the Natural Solutions Foundation on their delegation. Somehow or other, they appear not to have read those rules.

Here I must tell you about our Trustees. Ralph Fucetola, JD, `puts about 10 hours a day into this fight at the same pay rate that Dr. Rima, General Bert and I get: zero. He writes to, and speaks with, people around the country and the world. He does radio shows and talks with parents whose children have been damaged by vaccinations. He can barely afford to do this- but he considers it important. Dr. Rima and General Bert are each putting about 50 hours of work into each 24-hour day. They sold their home and are spending most of their own money to fight this fight.

They live out of suitcases, traveling about, spreading the word. They have traveled through African and Asian nations (eating foods and being bitten by insects that they did not even recognize!), where they met with the various Codex representatives, Ministers of Health, Presidents, etc., to motivate them to work as a unit at Codex meetings. These developing countries have more concern for their citizenry than our own U.S. and are glad for the advice. We have heard rumors that the U.S. government is trying to interfere with this by threatening loss of aid, etc., to these governments. So it is vital that we increase our numbers in order to be able to force our issues. And we must do this NOW!

We also face problems from within the health freedom movement. We have been attacked by groups doing far less for health freedom than we are, and considering what we have accomplished thus far, these attacks are ridiculous.

They also have us worried that there has been some infiltration by the very powers we are fighting. So do your research on the issues and everything you hear. Take note of who works and of who criticizes. Who is actually doing things and who is living off past glories and ego? And, most important, ask for the data, not the assertions, that these disinformation attacks on us are based on. There IS no data. The lies are baseless.
