I am writing with regard to your article referencing me that appears at: http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/story/news/local/2014/10/10/warning-ebola-claim/17060897/

There are several serious factual errors in this article. The 86 patients referred to were MALARIA patients and the study referenced took place in Ghana, having nothing at all to do with the current Ebola Epidemic.

I am indeed the Medical Director of the Natural Solutions Foundation and I did indeed live in Croton on Hudson but I do not claim to sell “Ebola-fighting products”. I do make Nano Silver products available because I trust the science and clinical experience which shows that they provide powerful support for the normal structure and function of the immune system, as they do, indeed.

The article states that “Natural Solutions Foundation is one of three companies….” despite the fact that we are not a company, we are a nonprofit humanitarian charity. While the author might not understand the difference, we believe that it is significant.

The video, “Hope During the Ebola Outbreak: None Need Die of Ebola”, is not available solely on the one site noted, which is our main website, www.DrRimaTruthReports.com . It is also available at www.youbtube.com/naturalsolutions and at www.youtube.com/rimaelaibowmd because we believe the information there, based on research funded by the US Department of Defense’s Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and officially declassified in 2009, is accurate. That research is detailed in the video which is accompanied by the appropriate disclaimers, as permitted by case law via Supreme Court Decisions, federal legislation and the Constitution of the United States. So any statement that “despite the requirement to take down claims, they are still being made” is false in two ways: 1. No claims are being made and 2. Legally appropriate disclaimers stating that no claims are being made accompany our information, including this particular video.

The warning letter is stated as being from the FDA. This is a partial truth: the warning letter was from both the FDA and the FTC. Yet another half-truth: the article states that I said that I was “unwilling to bow to pressure from the FDA” when what I actually said was that we were publishing disclaimers that we believe are unconstitutional and therefore unlawful “under protest”, noted therein, but that we would publish disclaimers in compliance with their view of the law nonetheless. We do this to “exhaust our administrative remedies.” This article conveys a totally false impression of my words and the Foundation’s intent. We cannot go to court to vindicate our rights without completing all administrative steps first.

Epidemiologist Dr. Rossi Haddad is the coauthor of a study published in 2010 which looks at the impact of SOME SORT OF NANO SILVER on a totally different virus (Tacaribe) from a totally different family (arenavirus) than Ebola, a member of the filovirus family. Dr. Haddad’s study says that not enough is known about the impact of nano silver on the arenavirus to determine its usefulness. It is difficult to know how that is relevant here. Further, if Dr. Haddad really did talk about whether Nano Silver 10 PPM has “power over Ebola”, then Dr. Haddad’s discussion would be meaningless since no nutrient has “power over’ anything, especially an organism. This “quote” is nothing short of pseudoscientific babble although it is presented as authoritative.
It is not clear what toxicity Dr. Haddad refers to since the Nano Silver 10 PPM employed in the DRTA/DOD study referred to above (and available at http://Donate.DrRimaTruth.com) has been subjected to 8 separate human safety studies and determined to be without any known toxicity. One of those studies directly involved the FDA. This type of Nano Silver has been approved by the FDA for wound care and by the EPA as a hard surface cleaner suitable for hospitals and food service environments so the FDA: both agencies hold it to be non-toxic.

Although this was discussed in detail with Ms. Lombroso, somehow this information did not appear in the article.

FDA spokesperson Stephanie Yao is quoted as saying that fraudulent claims are made during disease outbreaks. I am sure they are, but that has no relevance to us. We are not making any such and had Ms. Lombroso paid closer attention to what I actually said, and what is actually on our site (or paid less attention to editorial puppet masters determining what slant the story was to take regardless of the facts) the story would be a fair representation of my words, writings and, more importantly, of the capacity of Nano Silver 10 PPM, a nutrient, to support the immune system’s normal structure and function since we make no fraudulent claims whatsoever.

When immune structure and function is sufficiently intact, people do not “get” diseases. If a virus cannot replicate because the immune system will not allow it to penetrate cells and seize the manufacturing capabilities of those cell, then no disease is present, nor can it be present since the presence of a viral load of any size is not a disease, but part of the normal human microbiota.

Ms. Lombroso failed to understand or failed to convey another exquisitely important point: FDA has the authority to approve drugs. It totally lacks any authority to approve a nutrient. As a food product, nutrients are “grandfathered in” as permitted in the same way that a lamb chop or lettuce leaf does not need to be approved by the FDA to reach your dinner plate. In fact, there is no mechanism for the FDA to approve a DSHEA-grandfathered nutrient. More, a nutrient may not be considered as a “treatment,” only a “therapy that may benefit” making the FDA’s statement that there “is no approved treatment for Ebola” irrelevant in this case since it is true on narrow legalistic grounds but has no real meaning. There is a permitted nutrient which may provide therapeutic benefit when taken in the context of Ebola or any other pathogenic organism.

She also failed to convey my point that the FDA unconstitutionally restricts true speech (e.g., “this nutrient has been shown to “cure” that condition”, or these nutrients are an effective “treatment” for that disease”) and requires untrue speech (e.g., “this product is not intended to diagnose, prevent, treat, mitigate or cure any disease or condition” when, in fact, the product does do one or more of those things for one or more diseases or conditions) and that we are prepared to fight that battle in court to regain the right to use the words “prevent”, “treat”, “mitigate” and “cure” for natural medicine and nutrients. This would have been a salient point had Ms. Lombroso been either listening or free to report accurately. Apparently neither case obtained.

There were a few accuracies in the article: I did live in Croton until 2007, I am a psychiatrist by training and I do believe that WHO, FDA, CDC and other international and national actors on the Ebola stage absolutely have worked to suppress the fact that there are natural options and therapies that may benefit persons exposed to the Ebola virus – natural solutions, if deployed, that could even help contain the epidemic before it reaches America.
