Dear Murata-san,
.
Your latest initiative, writing to the Pope, comes at an opportune moment, as global elites prepare to gather in New York for important UN meetings in September.
.
May we republish your email below, with the copy of the letter to Pope Francis?
.
Regards,
.

Dear Fucetola-san,
.
I am sending you a copy of my letter addressed to Pope Francis.
.
I expressed my hope for the continued cooperation between President Obama and Pope Francis to realize a “World without Nuclear Weapons”, pointing out that a UN Ethics Summit is the beginning to it. I informed him of increasing international support for it.
.
Fukushima is no longer merely Japanese. It is global. The Tokyo Olympic Games clearly prove that Japan is not consecrating maximum efforts to bring the Fukushima accident under control.
.
My request addressed to President Thomas Bach to reassure the safety of Tokyo is overshadowed by the new urgent need to verify the safety of the whole Japan, threatened by the worsening situation emanating from the molten fuel rods, suspected to be disseminating widely neutron and tritium radiation.
.
The global environment continues to suffer seriously from unstoppable radioactive contamination. The international cooperation to cope with this, whose necessity is admitted by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, has not yet been concretized as yet. The lack of the sense of crisis prevails worldwide, helped by the Tokyo Olympic games.
.
All this amply justifies the expanding plea among conscientious Japanese citizens for an honorable retreat from them for the sake of Fukushima.
.
Please allow me to count on your understanding and support.
.
I will be sending roughly the same message as this to Ambassador Kennedy.
.
With warmest regards,
.
Mitsuhei Murata
