Here is a look a the projects underway right now or being initiated in the near future by the Natural Solutions Foundation.
1. eDeclaration of Planetary Health and Freedom Rights
Giving due reference to the UN Declaration of Rights, The World Health Organization Declaration of Health Rights and the WHO Global strategy for Diet, Physical Activity and Health, the World Medical Association’s Declaration of Helsinki, the Wilmont Declaration and common law principles such as the The Herbalist’s Charter of Henry VIII, this document sets forth basic health and freedom principles for humanity to serve as a guide for national policy, organizational focus and NGO activity.
2. Protection Against Compulsory Vaccination and Drugging
a. A State By State Compulsory Drugging and Vaccination Exemption Handbook (in eBook and hard copy format) will be available to guide people wishing to apply for exemptions for themselves and other people
b. A Personalized Legal and Medical Consultation Program providing necessary information, guidance and documetation will be available for those whishing to have personalized help in securing exemptions to vaccination and drugging at the State levels.
c. a No Forced Drugging Forum will be created to allow people to share information and ideas to prevent forced drugging and vaccination
3. Legislator’s Health and Freedom eHandbook
In conjunction with the internationally significant Codex Two Step Process developed by our Codex Working Group and building on the existing legislative language which the natural Solutions foundation, in conjunction with advisors from other health and freedom organizations, the Natural Solutions Foundation proposes the creation of a Legislative Handbook to guide Federal and State legislators in reforming and “reframing” the legislative landscape to support health and freedom choices for consumers, purveyors and practitioners. Just as the Natural Solutions Foundation Codex Book (“Codex two Step Process”) () provides an example of the application of the legislative and regulatory framework which nations can use to protect their people and food supply from the errors embodies in Codex, so this handbook would provide a framework from which legislators can work. Other handbooks are in the planning stage.
4. New Media Communication Strategies for Effective Penetration of Information and Options
Tapping into the new internet expertise and creativity available to us, we have developed a program to capitalize on the working principles of the internet to shift from old media communications to new media ones at, as Bill Gates would say, “…the speed of thought…” Simply putting the equivalent of a page of printed matter up on the internet is no longer sufficient for effective communication. These new strategies, which the Natural Solutions Foundation is currently implementing (but which we propose for sharing with other members of the health and freedom community) include:
a. Participatory New Media Health Freedom Symposium where creatives and organizations which need their creativity can come together to create a synergistically productive outcome unforeseen by either segment before the meeting.
b. Social Networking to attract and hold the attention of the internet user community world-wide. Through video, “FaceBook” – like virtual communities, YouTube postings and other “New Media” options, the Natural Solutions Foundation is radically changing its place on the internet and becoming a world leader in Health Freedom New Communications with the highest internet traffic ratings of any health freedom site or organization.
c. Documentary film making can be part of either the old media or the new. We have chosen, with the collaboration Ecological Options Network to make it part of the new media through an innovative programmatic multimedia strategy. Instead of commissioning a full length DVD on Health Freedom and the Codex Agenda, we have instead evolved a program of stand-alone segments in a Health Freedom Library dealing with each of the current “hot button’ issues relevant to health freedom. This will allow the health freedom movement and the wellness industry to have information rapidly and accurately become available allowing us to build our circle of influence’s awareness and energy, generate funds, spur debate and educate decision makers on these issues. After completion of the rapidly generated health Freedom Library modules, the final interactive documentary/eresource will be produced as a permanent part of the new media.
5. Development of the Natural Solutions foundation’s virtual web store, www.Organics4U.org.
Because we see the potential so clearly to simultaneously support the Wellness Industry and the health Freedom Advocates and practitioners who depend on its products through the use of the virtual store that we have created, we would like to develop-p an affiliate program allowing all health freedom organizations who are members of the working coalition to participate and help fund their activities while showing their strong support for clean, unadulterated health products and services. A Supporter’s Emporium is currently being developed to allow other goods and services to become available to the growing member base of the health freedom movement.
6. Defending against CODEX: International Health Freedom Advocacy Coalition of Health Friendly Countries and NGOs
The Natural Solutions Foundation has developed an unparalleled network of health friendly developing countries through their on-the-ground advocacy at Codex and in the home countries of the members of this emerging power center. We have developed exceptional access to health decision makers (e.g., Dr. Laibow addressing 43 Health Ministers in Mombasa, Kenya on HIV and Avian Flue prevention strategies and other related issues as well as Codex implications for their people’s health and longevity). These nations actively seek our participation in their decision making process.
For example, a large and important developing nation sought our legal and medical review of its new supplement regulations and we were able to significantly influence the proposed very low upper limits to alter them to much more liberal ones). The Natural Solutions Foundation has been invited by the entire West African bloc to conduct a series of training and policy meetings in Africa prior to codex meetings to assist that bloc in developing their positions and their choreographed responses to Codex items at the forthcoming meetings. In fact, such a meeting was scheduled which included the Presidents and Ministers of health of all 16 west African nations just prior to the last Codex Alimentarius Commission meeting (July, 2007). Funding was promised but failed to materialize so the meeting was never held. The trust and faith which the emerging pro health collation of developing nations’ places in us was exemplified when, because of scientific information provided by the Natural Solutions foundation to our friendly countries, fluoride was prevented from being approved as an additive in infant formula for healthy babies. This decision was taken through our advocacy, over the vigorous objection of the United States, the EU, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, thus demonstrating the power of the model. and
While many issues pertain most strongly to the developing nations, there is an urgent need for leadership domestically as well as internationally on issues like vaccination, especially compulsory vaccination; other forms of compulsory drugging and limitation of factual information about the health benefits of food and traditional, natural and advanced therapies. The Natural Solutions Foundation has played a pivotal role in alerting and activating consumers and decision makers to these issues.
It is important to note that the Natural Solutions foundation’s continuing presence at Codex has allowed the Health Freedom voice to have a clear window on the interrelationship between adverse policies brought forward in Codex and the implementation of those same adverse policies through domestic regulation and legislation.
7. Creative Legislator Education (incorrectly sometimes called “lobbying”) and Litigation programs to preserve, protect, defend and restore Health and Freedom domestically and internationally.
With sufficient financial support from industry and interested donors, we believe that the legal recourses open to us are of significant potential in establishing case law to solidify health Freedom domestically and internationally.
a. The Natural Solutions Foundation has retained an experienced legislative consultant, Charles Frohman. Ideally, this activity, which currently employs the Trustees of the Foundation for 4 days a month in Washington DC . The relationships being developed have allowed us to engage in productive dialogues on a number of issues with Members of Congress.
b. We have supported the co-sponsorship of legislation to prevent parents from being forced to vaccinate or medicate their children (the importance and timeliness of which was tragically demonstrated on November 17 when 1600 parents were threatened with jail and fines if they failed to vaccinate, or in some cases, re-vaccinate, their children when either the school had lost their records or the parents did not wish to have them vaccinated.
c. The Natural Solutions Foundation has taken the lead in calling for hearings on the process of divesting the FDA of its food regulatory responsibility and numerous legislators are now seeking our input for legislative language for bills of interest to them.
8. Health Freedom Score Card
Working on the conviction that Health Freedom must be a topic of vigorous debate in the Presidential election discussion, the trustees of the natural Solutions Foundation were delighted to comply with the request they received from a Presidential Campaign to draft the Candidate’s Health Freedom Plank. Through a Health Freedom Score Card, which asks 19 tough questions of the Candidates regarding their public health freedom policies we have brought the issue into greater prominence through nearly 100,000 emails and faxes to the Presidential Candidates.
Authorized by the First Amendments, Citizens Petitions are a legal mechanism to challenge government policies. We have initiated a Citizens Petition to force the FAD to abandon its declared harmonization policy with Codex restrictions on nutrient values. About 125,000 Americans have joined the Citizens Petition through signed documents.
Additional Citizens Petitions are in the planning stage.
10. International Decade of Nutrition: Hope for the Word through dynamic empowerment and the dissemination of natural solutions to the ancient twin scourges of mankind: hunger and disease.
Part of the solution to the health freedom threats lies in the Natural Solutions Foundation dynamic and far-reaching “International Decade of Nutrition”. Because we understand that there is enough information already available to solve the world’s hunger problems and to eliminate most of the diseases of under-nutrition and water-born, parasite and other organism-based diseases, the Natural Solutions foundation has inaugurated a program to
a. Reclaim sustainable organic farming and disseminate the necessary advanced and under-utilized, low-tech, high impact technologies to allow farmers to gain the economic advantage to resist Agribiz and stay in their communities and on their farms while growing food without pesticides and other chemicals
b. Apply already existing, but little known technologies to eliminate parasitic and other organism-based diseases without the use of dangerous and expensive pharmaceuticals, pesticides, fungicides and other toxic chemicals through the use of inexpensive, effective and easily managed options
c. Widespread dissemination of information which empowers and reinforces the autonomy of populations currently disenfranchised from access to traditional, natural and advanced therapies.
Conclusion: the time has never been more opportune for strategically significant alliance by serious and successful groups in the health Freedom movement to exploit the opportunities developed by the Natural Solutions Foundation (supported by astute and sophisticated donors who understand the gravity of the threat and the potency of the opportunity which we bring to the planetary community and the domestic one as well).

HFUSA: The FDA current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) Final Rule
Do you support the FDA cGMP Final Rule for dietary supplements, issued on June 22, 2007, requiring the batch testing of all food dietary supplements although
– Supplements have an enviable safety record
– The FDA’s own economic analysis of the impact of the cGMP shows that it will drive a significant number of small and medium size manufacturers out of business?
Dr. Paul: I oppose all federal regulations that burden dietary supplement manufacturers. There is no need for the federal nogovernment to impose “Good Manufacturing Practices” on the dietary supplement industry. In addition, the federal government lacks constitutional authority to create standards for the supplement industry.
HFUSA: The FDA draft Guidance on Health Claim substantiation
A. Are your aware of the FDA draft guidance on Health Claim substantiation, issued this summer, which mandates an unreasonably high “Significant Scientific Agreement” standard instead of the FTC “competent and reliable scientific evidence”, as proposed in HR 2117, The Health Freedom Protection Act?
Dr. Paul: I oppose the CAM Regulation draft guidelines and submitted comments to the FDA in opposition to the CAM regulations.
HFUSA: Do you support HR2117 {Health Freedom Protection Act]?
Dr. Paul: I introduced HR 2117, and oppose all FDA actions that in any way infringe on the First Amendment rights of consumers to learn about the health benefits of dietary supplements.
HFUSA: Protection of Dietary Supplements
Do you support continuing strong protection for Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) products?
Dr. Paul: I support DSHEA.
HFUSA: Bio-Identical Hormones
Do you support the right of men and women to use supplemental Bio-identical Hormones such as DHEA and progesterone to support normal function during change of life and premature aging in preference to less effective, dangerous and more expensive prescription drugs if they prefer bio-identical hormones?
Dr. Paul: The federal government has no constitutional authority to stop Americans from using bio-identical hormones.
HFUSA: Compounding Pharmacies
Do you support the right of Compounding Pharmacists and licensed physicians to continue to provide compounded medications, on a doctor’s prescription, for special needs and choices of individuals, communicating their availability to the public, as permitted by the landmark Supreme Court case of Thompson vs. Western States Medical Centers?
Dr. Paul: The federal government has constitutional authority to restrict the operations of compounding pharmacies.
HFUSA: A. Trilateral Cooperation Charter/North American Union/Security and Prosperity Partnership
A. Do you support the “North American Union” and its companion “Security and Prosperity Partnership” which were created without Congressional debate and approval?
Dr. Paul: A. I am the leading Congressional opponent of the North American Union and the Security and Prosperity Partnership.
HFUSA: B. Do you support FDA’s policy of “harmonization” of regulations with those of Mexico and Canada through the North American Union and the already-operating Trilateral Cooperation Charter which fuses the national health departments of all three countries into a single entity without Congressional oversight or authorization of any entity?
Dr. Paul: B. I oppose all efforts to harmonize American law with the law of other countries and I have taken the lead in working to mobilize congressional opposition to the Trilateral Cooperation Charter.
HFUSA: C. Do you support such executive agreements without Congressional debate and approval?
Dr. Paul: C. No; I do not support allowing the President to erode our freedom and threaten our sovereignty by executive agreement.
HFUSA: D. If elected, do you pledge to use the power of the Executive Branch of Government to overturn or reverse the North American Union, Security and Prosperity Partnership and the Trilateral Cooperation Charter?
Dr. Paul: D. As President, I will withdraw the United States from the North American Union, the Security and Prosperity Partnership, and the Trilateral Cooperation Charter.
HFUSA: HARMonization of FDA regulations with international and foreign agencies and entities
A. Do you support FDA?s policy of ?harmonization? of regulations with those of the European Union, under executive agreement?
Dr. Paul: A. I oppose harmonization. Centralization of power and control breeds oppression.
HFUSA:B. Do you support FDA?s policy of ?HARMonization? of regulations with the standards and guidelines of the Codex Alimentarius when those texts are created through the US efforts on behalf of industrialized food supply constituents and degrade and render toxic the US and global food supplies?
Dr. Paul: B. I am the leading Congressional opponent of CODEX.
HFUSA: C. If elected, what steps do you pledge to take to end these HARMonization activities of the FDA, USDA, FTC and EPA?
Dr. Paul: C. I will seek to stop US participation in the Codex process and make it clear to the UN and the WTO that my administration will not change one comma in American law to make the bureaucrats at Codex happy.
HFUSA:Anti-HARMonization Statute
Do you support strict enforcement of the Anti-Harmonization Statute, 19 USC 3512, which prohibits such harmonization with respect to the US food supply and those foods known as Dietary Supplements?
Dr. Paul: I was instrumental in drafting the anti-harmonization statute, so, yes; I supported strict enforcement of it.
HFUSA: FDA HARMonization with international standards
A. Are you aware and do you support the FDA’s announced policy of “harmonization” with International Standards, even where those standards are not finalized: “In a notice published in the Federal Register of October 11, 1995 (60 FR 53078), FDA articulated its policy regarding the development and use of standards with respect to the harmonization of various national and international regulatory requirements and guidelines? – http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~lrd/fr970707.html ?
Dr. Paul: A. As stated before, I am strongly opposed to harmonization.
HFUSA:B If elected, what steps do you pledge to take to reign in such HARMonization and return the US to regulatory sovereignty?

HFUSA: World Trade Organization and similar international bodies
A. Do you support harmonizing America’s legal structure and freedoms to international restrictions through participation in bodies such as the World Trade Organization?
Dr. Paul: A. No; I oppose harmonizing American laws with those of foreign countries to satisfy the WTO or any other international regime.
HFUSA: B. Do you support withdrawing from the World Trade Organization?
Dr. Paul: B. Yes; as a Congressman, I took advantage of the clause in the WTO enabling legislation that allows any member of Congress to introduce legislation withdrawing the United States from the WTO. In fact, by twice introducing WTO withdrawal legislation, I twice forced Congress to vote on withdrawing the United States from the WTO.
HFUSA: C. Do you support withdrawing from the United Nations?
Dr. Paul: C. Yes; I have introduced legislation to withdraw from the UN (HR 1146).
HFUSA: Divesting the FDA of food regulatory authority
A. Since nutrient and natural health products are regulated as Food in accordance with US law, do you support a division of the FDA into two separate agencies, one focusing on Foods (including dietary supplements and all natural or non-pharmaceutical health products) and the other finally focusing on protecting the safety of the public with regard to dangerous drugs and invasive medical devices?
Dr. Paul: A. No; I favor reducing the power of the FDA, not “rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic” by dividing the FDA bureaucracy.
HFUSA: B. Do you support the FDA’s approval of genetically modified foods in the absence of any safety testing, requiring only a patent before the genetically modified food can be admixed with the food supply?
Dr. Paul: B. Consumers should have the right to choose whether or not to use genetically modified food without having the FDA deny them that choice.
HFUSA: C. Do you support the FDA’s position that since the FDA has declared genetically modified foods equivalent to natural ones in the absence of any testing to demonstrate that to be the case and its stated understanding that the public would reject genetically modified foods if they knew what they were buying and eating, that it would be false and misleading if genetically modified foods were identified as such so their labeling is prohibited?
Dr. Paul: C. Consumers have every right to demand that genetically-modified food be labeled as such.
HFUSA: Compulsory medical treatment
A. Do you support the use of the State’s powers to compel compulsory mental health or other screening, forced drugging or other medical treatment under any circumstances?
Dr. Paul: A. No; I oppose compulsory medical treatment.
HFUSA: B. Do you support removing children from parental custody when parents refuse to use medication for alleged “mental health problems” in their children?
Dr. Paul: B. The federal government has no authority to remove children from their parents’ custody because those parents have refused to medicate their children according to federal edicts.
HFUSA: C. Do you support removing children from parental custody when parents refuse to use medication for the allopathic (pharmaceutical) treatment of life threatening diseases such as cancer?
Dr. Paul: C. The federal government has no constitutional authority to remove a child from a parent’s custody because of that parent’s refusal to seek state-ordered medical treatments for their child.
HFUSA: D. Do you support the forced use of pharmaceutical or other medical treatment in adults under any circumstances?
Dr. Paul: D. I have a difficult time imaging a scenario where I would support forcing medical treatment on someone against their will, especially in my capacity as a federal elected official.
HFUSA: E. Do you support the right of parents or adult persons to chose natural medical treatments over pharmaceutical ones if they desire?
Dr. Paul: E. Of course; I support the right of adults to choose natural medical treatments. I have consistently cosponsored legislation in Congress to protect this right.
HFUSA: Mandatory screening
A. Do you support mandatory mental health or other health screening?
Dr. Paul: A. I am the leading Congressional opponent of Mandatory Mental Health Screening.
HFUSA: B. Do you support the use of Federal funds for such screening?
Dr. Paul: B. I have introduced the Parental Consent Act (HR 2387), which forbids federal funds for mandatory mental health screening of children without parental consent. I oppose any use of funds for mandatory mental health screening.
HFUSA: C. Do you support the use of Federal funds to pay for forced drugging of children or adults?
Dr. Paul: C. Yes, I oppose the use of federal funds to pay for forced medicating of children (or adults).
HFUSA: Natural Health Options
Do you support the use of Federal funds for natural medical and health therapy services and treatments on a par with pharmaceutical and other allopathic treatments, at the discretion of the patient?
Dr. Paul: As long as the federal government is financing health care, it should allow the beneficiaries to choose to use their federal funds for alternative treatments.
HFUSA: Vaccination
A. Do you oppose mandatory vaccination under all circumstances?
Dr. Paul: A. It is difficult for me to imagine a scenario where I could support forced vaccinations, especially in my capacity as a federal elected official.
HFUSA: B. Do you support continuing the pharmaceutical industry’s exemption from legal responsibility for injuries caused by vaccinations?
Dr. Paul: B. No, I do not believe the pharmaceutical industry should be protected from paying compensation to those harmed by their vaccines.
HFUSA: C. Do you support continuing the pharmaceutical industry’s exemption from legal responsibility for injuries caused by drugs approved for any indication?
Dr. Paul: C. No, the pharmaceutical industry should not be protected from being held accountable to those injured by their products.
HFUSA: . Reproductive Autonomy
A. Do you support a woman’s right to control her reproductive life without interference from the Federal government?
Dr. Paul: A. As a physician, I oppose abortion. I believe this should be dealt with by state and local governments; it is not a federal issue.

Before I tell you what I think might be the best news we have had in a long time, let me ask your indulgence: right now, because of the strength with which people all over the world are resonating with our message, We have 10,647 non-spam emails in our email box. 6,736 are unread. So please rest assured that if you have sent the Natural Solutions Foundation (or me, for that matter) an email and have not gotten a reply it is because we are still plowing through the huge mass of very welcome communications. Every email received by the Natural Solutions Foundation gets answered by a real, live, caring and involved person. Just understand that it may take a bit of time.
As long as we are talking numbers, here are a few more:
179,358 people have sent comments to the FDA through our comments page on the dangerous FDA Guidance. A total of 426,506 folks have tried to send comments through that page but could not for technical (or other) reasons. That is a lot of people responding to this major threat to their health freedom. And, despite what is floating around the internet, it IS a major threat. One prominent health site, Mercola.com, citing the assessment of his “$500 an hour lawyer” poo pooed the idea that there is any threat from the Guidance. They are dead wrong. High fees don’t make an assessment right (or wrong) One usually high priced lawyer looses every case.

I note that Gavin posted my Threat Assessment regarding the FDA draft CAM
guidance on this blog. The draft was “issued” on 12/26/06, though FDA waited
until 02/26/07 to give notice in the Federal Register, initially allowing
little time to reply. That’s now been extended to 05/29/07. Apparently, some
people, not used to reading the bureaucratic-speak in the draft, don’t
appreciate the potential harm in codifying bad law, thus they consider my

As stated therein, “All of these multiple assaults are, of course, connected.
They are connected in philosophy, proponents and beneficiaries. Their
proponents refuse to allow us the freedom to make our own choices, deeming
that their political power gives them the authority to decide for us. We have
had enough of such deciders. They have given us a medical system that kills
hundreds of thousands each year…”Please consider all views with an open mind. I for one refuse to disallow
anyone’s efforts to preserve and enhance health freedom, and I refuse to
condemn anyone for disagreeing with my reading of the threat inherent in the
anti-CAM guidance.
Despite the circulation of information on the web saying that the Guidance is not significant, the Natural Solutions Foundation, based on the assessment of our legal team, continues to ring this alarm bell. And the public continues to respond! Remember that the comment period has been extended to May 29 and it is vitally important to make sure that we flood the FDA with our strong commitment to maintaining our access to natural health options.
According to Alexa.com, which tracks internet use, the rank of www.HealthFreedomUSA.org in the US is 17,490 (22,832 in Canada) and 45,631 globally among all the sites that they track! They also say that 3 out of every thousand people using the internet visited our site yesterday! Clearly, the health freedom bell is ringing.
It may, just may, have rung at Codex. True, there were blankets ready to muffle its sound, but sitting in the (seemingly endless) meeting yesterday of the Codex Committee on Food Labeling a rather astonishing thing happened.
You may recall that the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) (which administer Codex) told Codex in July of 2005 that they wanted it to find ways to implement the WHO Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health (GS) and that the Codex Committees on Food Labeling (CCFL) and Nutrition and Foods for Special Dietary Purposes (CCNFSDU) were tasked with doing just that. You may also recall that both of those committees dragged their feet, played parliamentary games and otherwise dodged that particular responsibility.
But this year, when the Agenda item dealing with implementation of the Global Strategy came up, it was NOT put to the end of the meeting. Instead, representatives from WHO and FAO spoke on the GS and the WHO representative, Dr. Margaret Cheney, laid out what WHO proposed. I had a hard time not whooping with excitement!
WHO wants food global labeling which includes information and statements specifically designed to allow consumers to protect their health by reducing their risk of the non communicable diseases (NCDs) of under nutrition (Cancers, CardioVascular Disease and Stroke, Diabetes and Obesity) AND it wants these labels to contain information on the — fasten your seat belts — dietary management of these diseases!
That means that WHO wants consumers all over the world to know that nutrition, food, nutrients can make them sick, protect them from getting sick, or help them get well if they are sick! That is the very information that the US government does NOT want people to have. It is the very information that CCFL does not want them to have. It is the very information that the US-supported definition of “advertising” — ANY information which is likely to reach the public and change beliefs or action about diet — does not want to allow people to have.
The WHO drew a line in the sand and the teams began to line up. Lots and lots of countries tried to explain why their consumers did not need, should not have, could not have, could not afford, could not understand, would not use, could not handle, information about nutrition on their pre-packaged food labels. Others, including the US, said that we do have mandatory labeling on pre-packaged food and that it really does help consumers to make their food choices.
Now the battle will be WHICH foods are included, which characteristics of foods will be included (total energy, added sugars, transfats, [synthetic ones from partially hydrogenated oils or natural ones or both], etc. Every lobby, every special interest group and those countries that they control, will be fighting for turf and protection for their interests. But some countries and organizations will be fighting for their people and for the right to make informed choices. We’ll see who lines up on which side! You can be sure I will keep you posted!
On another note, at the reception held by the Government of Canada for the CCFL attendees at the magnificent Museum of Civilization last night, the US Codex Point, made it a point to introduce his wife to General Stubblebine and me saying, “I want you to meet Dr. Laibow: she gives me a hard time!”. His wife said, “Yes, I’ve heard the stories!” and we had a very pleasant chat. I guess it was a bit like two attorneys who are arrayed on diametrically opposite sides of an issue still finding a way to maintain civility. Neither Dr. S. nor I changed sides, but we had a meaning conversation (including a discussion about the definition of advertising and its dangers) and opened a door for more conversation. It would be really nice if the health freedom community could engage in that civility. We had a meaningful and possibly productive conversation last night and did not waste any energy on enmity. We focused on the issues and apparently actually heard each other, at least a bit.
If the various factions of the health freedom community which choose to act without civility decided to stop slinging mud at each other and wasting energy on such infantile behavior, we would be able to get a lot further. There are real enemies out there. The Natural Solutions Foundation believes that those in the health freedom movement who spend their time attacking anyone — and everyone – who differs from their current position by the least jot or tittle are wasting the most precious resource that we have in this battle: awareness.
Unless, of course, that is their intent.
You will notice that the Natural Solutions Foundation NEVER attacks any one. We take positions, we take action, we alert and we report but we never savage or impute motivations to anyone. And we accomplish forward movement. That’s the goal.
We are, as I like to say, the ones we have been waiting for. That does not mean that we are the ones we have been waiting for to attack. At least not to us!

Today is another day of deliberations for the Codex Committee on Food Labeling (where, by the way, the juices served at breaks has fructose, added glucose and artificial flavors and colors). The munchies last night were deep fried so delegates could get their trans fat fix. The coffee break snacks are nothing but commercial carbs: not a protein molecule or veggie in sight. So much for walking the talk at Codex. I will keep you posted.
Don’t forget to mobilize your circle of influence to send in their comments on the dangerous FDA Guidance, send letters to the editor, etc. Your comments on S 1082/H 1082, the FDA Revitalization Bill of 2007 need to be heard, too.
This is the health freedom battle and it is a battle worth fighting.

I’ll admit it. I got scooped! I was planning to blog, e-blast, write press releases, do a series of interviews and generally focus attention on a burning question that could save your life or your child’s (or someone else’s): “Drugs: What are You Taking and Why?”. But a wonderful campaign got there first and is doing a spectacular job of providing information about the serious, and potentially lethal, disconnect between psychiatric drugs, psychiatric diagnoses and biochemical reality.
I want to tell you about this campaign and urge you to consult the first class information provided on their site, their radio shows, articles and tools for empowerment and choice-making. Psychiatric drugs can be dangerous, they are largely untested, their efficacy is unproven, and they are powerful toxins which can have lasting, and often highly damaging, impact on the brain and behavior. Their long term effects are little known in adults and virtually unknown in children. None the less, they are quick and easy to use: they provide an initial damping of disturbing or irksome behaviors in many patients. True, the distressing and dangerous downward spiral of more symptoms, more drugs, more symptoms, more drugs, more symptoms, more drugs is a well established cycle rooted in biochemical reality. Unfortunatley, the use of these drugs is not rooted in any such biochemical solidity. The much-vaunted “Chemical Imbalance” has never been shown to exist. Treating it with expensive, life-threatening drugs whose efficacy is more a matter of glossy, but brilliant, media than of of non-commerically-tainted science is highly questionable at best and may be a lot worse. The system is broken (see below), drugs are highly questionable and should only be taken with full knowledge of the risks and benefits, and of all other options available (including questioning any diagnosis made so that you understand completely why you [or your child]) should, or should not, take the drugs offered by a harried, time-compressed, well-meaning, but well-indoctrinated physician or other prescriber.
What to do? Go to “The Truth About Psychiatry” and spend some time there. The information is sound, good science and, where there are only questions instead of answers, clearly and simply stated. While the site is not yet complete (the bookstore, for example, is yet to come), the information is top notch as are the experts who have banded together to get the word out: if YOU do not know what, and why, you are taking medication, it is your right and your responsibility to find out. Their radio archives, currently contain 11 easily downloadable archived interviews which are uniformly high quality, non technical and riveting. Each one is more potent, and more empowering, than the last. And each one prepares you to ask the right questions and evaluate the answers you get from your doctor or any where else.
The “Just Say Know” site is not about drug bashing. It is about ignorance busting.
To help you be in the know so you can make truly informed decisions, there is a very elegant, simple, clear (and clearly useful) form which you can download at www.psychtruth.org/justsayknow.htm. Working through it with your doctor you can see what you are taking and why. And, whatever your decision about the drugs themselves, as an informed consumer you are “doing a body good!” — Yours!

Day 44: July 25, 2006
Today the Director Medical of Sir Ganga Ram Hosptial, Dr. Nalini Kaul, Bert and I made the journey to the foothills of the Himalayas to a town called Misoori (pronouneced “miz ZOO ri” which looks like the pictures I have seen of Tibet: steep, craggy mountains with exquisit and improbably buildings perched on their absolute edges, mists in the peaks, astonishingly dangerous roads on the edge of eternity. But we went there to meet a healer of extraordinary power who is also a scientist of exceptional talents. He has created frequency devices which do the things that we all hope they will do, starting with cancer. Bert and I wanted to meet him!
About 8 harrowing hours after starting out, we reached his astonishing house where we had lunch (very good food) and conversation (outstanding!) and then watched him treat patients with asthma, diabetes and other serious diseases and conditions with a simple touch of his fingers. The energy in the room, by the way, was palpable. The patients were significantly better after treatment by this brilliant, simple and saintly man.
I asked him if he would treat an olechronon busal cyst (fluid filled bump) on Bert’s left elbow and he agreed. As soon as the 2 minute treatment was over, the cyst was about 1/3 its previous size and hardness. He said it would take one or two more treatments to resolve the issue.
We drove down into town and in the pouring monsoon rains, found a restaruant where we had excellent vegetarian food and we agreed that this scientist would work with us to develop frequency devices to treat a variety of things. To do that, of course, we will have to find a way to set up a frequency laboratory. I don’t know quite how, but we will. His techniques, and others we know about, belong to the world. They are another type of natural health option which we should all have the possibility to use for health and healing if we wish.
Day 45: July 26, 2006
Breakfast with our new friend, two quick treatments for Bert and back to Delhi in the rains, down roads that scared us all witless, into towns and back into the country, past temples and mosques everywhere. When we got back, of course, my task was email since there was no connectivity in the hotel and we were far to busy to spend time that way in the house of the remarkable man we were visiting.
By the time we reached Delhi, however, Bert’s previously asymptomatic cyst was now hot, hard, painful and much, much larger than it had every been before. Clearly the treatment did something, but we did not have any idea what at that point.
Day 46: July 27, 2006
Our IT guy, Venkat, flew in from Channai (in the state of Tamil Nadu) so we could talk about the issues involved in servicing the complex Natural Solutions Foundation organization which is rapidly growing here in India and its IT needs.
For dinner, we met again with pulmonologist D. G. Jain, MD and asked him if he would honor us by serving as the Chairman of the Natural Solutions Foundation for Delhi. To our immense pleasure and gratitude he agreed and we discussed just what that means.
India is a ripe ground for productive public and professional support for health and health freedom. She has a large footprint on the world’s stage and is a ripening economy which is now in the process of making decisions which will change her future and the world scene. Our allies here are well organized, motivated and highly educated. We are very, very glad we came!
Day 47: July 28, 2007
While waiting to see one of our people in the morning we were asked if we would meet with the Sir Ganga Ram Hosptial Dietician staff. We did, of course, and met 3 well-informed, motivated and passionate ladies who understand the relationship between food and health. Their hosptial uses only fresh foods and cooks every meal at the time it will be served. We made a variety of suggestions (like, “Get rid of the styrofoam cups and bowls, use brown rice, use organic foods, incorporate more unrefined, organic coconut oil, use more selenium-rich vegetables”, etc.) and we discussed how to implement them. Clearly, that connection will expand and we were simply delighted.
When we were meeting with Dr. Kaul about how we will proceed with research in several areas. I asked her to take a look at Bert’s cyst (which was worse than it was on Wednesday by a good deal). She and I knew that it could not wait until we got home in a few days and while she was pondering whom to refer us to (in one of India’s finest hospitals, by the way) the door opened and in walked the head of the Plastic Surgery Department. “That’s your man!” said Dr. Kaul and Bert very shortly was having blood drawn, urine specimen received an MRI of his elbow and a CT scan, too.
We met with the radiologist and reviewed the scans with him: there was not only a huge and not very postive something or other, it was impinging on the bone and had to come out — tomorrow.
Day 49: July 29, 2006
Bert and I went to the hospital early and sat around for a long time (that is trans cultural!) and then he was taken into the Operating Theater for the procuedure (under local anaesthetic, I am happy to say!). Due to their hospital policy, I could not come so I did what loved ones do: I sat and sat and sat and sat. Finally, he came out of the OT he went to Out Patient Recovery and I joined him. He was well, alert and really pretty cut up on the left arm. Apparently, what came out was partly necrotic (dead) and alll nasty. It was huge (8 centimeters by 4 cm of nastiness). But the really interesting thing is that there was nothing much there when the energy healer finished his treatments. So our hypothesis of the moment is that the energy stimulated the tissue and damaged it, too, but not enough to get rid of the problem. Bert’s body quite reasonably produced an inflammation to try to deal with the sudden change in the area and the net result was a problem which needed urgent care!
I am really sorry that Bert had to go through this, but it is really interesting and instructive about how energy can work when interacting with the physical body. There is a hint in there for further understanding.
At about 3:00PM I had to make a choice: Bert was well but still in the recovery room and I could stay with him or I could leave him (since he was fine) and let the hospital finish its routine with him while I went to the first of two important obligations that evening. We decided that I would leave him to get a cab 5 minutes to the Hotel Swadi Deluxe where we are staying.
My first meeting was at the India Habitat Center’ American Diner (serving American fast food!) with a former journalist who, for the past 15 years has been fighting hunger in India by opposing GM foods and other devastating policies. He was knowlegeable, passionate and purposeful. His organization has produced outstanding results here in India in public and politician awareness on the issues and we agreed that our mutual issues ( because they are identical) are completely winnable. The materials his organization has produced are outstanding and in the coming weeks and months, our organizations will be supporting and strengthening each other.
I explained the “Codex 2 Step” to him and he, an expert in the WTO and trade sanctions, was absolutly delighted since it makes perfect sense to take this tack. He received a copy of the Codex eBook which applies this template to the devastatingly restrictive and pro-illness “Vitamin and Mineral Guideline” ratified by Codex on July 4, 2005.
Next we headed off to a meeting hall in the Habitat Center to speak at the invitation of D. G. Kaarthikayen, former head of India’s Central Bureau of Intellegence (their equivalent of our FBI) about whom I have previously written and with the help of his son, Kailas. The crowd was a gathering of the intellegencia and power elite of Delhi, I had been told but I was not prepared for the astonishing array of people I met who occupy high and influential positions. All of them had come to hear a Pranic (energy) healer from the Philipines who had arrive just that day. They got me, too, rather unexpectedly!
The response was very heartening: although they did not come to hear about health and health freedom, they responded very vigorously and positively, coming to the front of the room in a throng to get our card, brochure, give us their cards, etc. and make contact for further development. It was a great finale for this trip and opened up more opportunities for positive movement.
Health and health freedom are global. Their support around the world globalizes their access and strength for us all. This trip, like our previous ones, have made it clear that allies gain form one another and give to one another.
Whether it’s South Africa, Tanzania, Mali, Afghanistan, India, Peru or the US, we feed each other and we need each other. And we all understand that clean, unadulterated food is the foundation of health! Natural health options are our birthright and our personal right. No one will take them from us. And nutrients will help to end world hunger and increase world health. The Natural Solutions Foundation is making that options clear to health allies around the world.

Day 50: July 30, 2006.
Packing to go home and tending Bert’s wound occupied nearly the whole day.
He had his drain removed in the hospital today and we bought a new suitcase to hold all the books, pamphets, papers, etc. which we acquired along the way on this remarkable trip.
But there was time for a wonderful phone call in between these tasks. Dr. C. V. Krishnaswami, widely regarded as one of India’s leading lights in diabetology, has agreed to head the Natural Solutions Foundation — India in the state of Tamil Nadu. Dr. CVK, as he is widely known, is a natural health advocate with a huge reputation and an even larger heart. He has published widely on the fact that women with gestational diabetis, for example, do not need to be placed on insulin but instead, given 250 mg of Vitamin B6 per day. Their babies and they do beautifully and both are spared the dangers of exogenous (outside) insulin administration.
Dr. Preema Krishnaswami, the equally celebrated obstetrician (and Dr. CVK’s wife) has delivered hundreds of healthy babies to celebreties and poor people alike. She has tended equally healthy babies and moms on this regimen for gestational diabetes and together Dr. CVK and Dr. Preema have published their results. But that is not all: in addition to very busy practices they run a free diabetes service for 500 Type 1 diabetic children: not only do they pay for their insulin (which their families could not afford), but they provide their school uniforms, pay for their school fees (not free in India), provide them with counseling, make sure that they find employement when they leave school, provide food for them and, in fact, make it possible for these children to have happy, productive childhoods and go on to happy, productive adult lives.
Dr. CVK and Dr. Preema are, I can tell you from personal experience, two of the most incredible people I have ever met. And now they have graced us by joining the battle with the Natural Solutions Foundation.
In fact, the exceptionally powerful meeting of people in their city of Chennai which we spoke at was arranged by them. So was our meeting with the wife of one of India’s leading film stars who is now interested in bringing her circle of influence to bear for our cause. These are people of heart, skill and influence and we are deeply honored by their participation in the health and health freedom cause.
